Jonathan heard his alarm clock go off but he was already awake. He was currently eating a bowl of cereal and some toast while sitting on his couch in the living room. He doesn't have a big place to live. A one bedroom and one bathroom. Jonathan seemed like a complete mess at first glance. Hair was medium length and never combed, eyes under his bag as if he has not slept in days, and he always seems out of it and in his own reality. Once you payed more attention to him, he looked the exact same way. He rarely sleeps, he is in his mind half the time, he looked like a complete mess no matter how many times you looked at him.

When the alarm clock went off Jonathan got up from the couch and walked over to the alarm clock and shut it off. He sighed once he realized it was already 7 am.

Jonathan got undressed except his underwear. He grabbed a pair of black dress pants and a white long sleeve button up dress shirt out of his closet, Jonathan always looked nice. He thought it was necessary to look your best at all times when necessary. Work was one of those times to him, so he made sure he always wore nice clothes to work. Some disagree due to work hazards but he got his clothes custom made so they would not interfere with his work. He put them on and grabbed a pair of socks from the floor and put them on.

Jonathan grabbed his black laptop bag and walked out his apartment. He lived at the very end of the hallway so he walked to the middle of the hallway to the stairs. He slid down the railing to the first floor.

It was the middle of September and the leaves were changing with a wave of brown and red flooding the trees. It was growing colder by the day and like most days, the skies were clear of any clouds for miles around. Not many people took the time to look around them, but Jonathan did. Every day he walks out his apartment building doors he will look around and take nature in with open arms. To him, nature is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

He put a pair of black sunglasses on as he walked out the doors of his apartment building. He heard the door automatically lock behind him as it always did. Jonathan started to walk down a crowded street. It seemed less crowded than usual. As Jonathan walked down the street he heard noticed things. He would hear people's conversations, the way people walked, how they drove, and a bunch of other things. He has always noticed these things since a child he would always notice how people acted. He would make connections and found he was really good at solving riddles and puzzles. So when someone suggested he become a police officer or a detective. He considered it for a couple years before he decided to go into the field of crime solving and graduated the top of his class. He had a perfect score, which had only happened one other time. The other one has not been seen for years and he is believed to be dead. He has not been seen since he graduated which was twenty-four years ago. The investigation to find him ended a long time ago.

Despite being one of the best detectives, he didn't care much for rules. He walked across busy roads, barely dodging cars, he used unorthodox methods to get information if he felt it was necessary to, he has broken tons of laws, and he is willing to do more.

After he walked a couple blocks to the police station, Jonathan walked through the first set of doors, typed in the password to open the second set of doors then entered. The familiar scent of coffee flooded his nose as he walked to his desk. A group of police officers were bragging to each other about arrests near the coffee pot. Most of the detectives are gone along with the police officers. Once Jonathan sat down he pulled his laptop out and started to do some research on what everyone was working on. Jonathan became very focused and didn't realize when the chief of police walk up behind him.

"Jonathan" the chief of police said to him, he sounded as if something was wrong and this peaked Jonathan's interest. When Jonathan turned his head toward him and looked up, he recognized him immediately. He spoke at Jonathan's graduation, but ever since Jonathan became a detective they always seemed to disagree about things. He thinks 'I wonder what Jim wants' Jonathan says "Hello sir."

"You have a new case, murder on 9th street. Looks like a mugging but a witness swore the murder was Hiroshima..." Jim says, his voice trails off at the end.

"Hiroshima as in the fire kon-" Jonathan says as he stands up

Jim slaps Jonathan across the face "Yes, but you know you are not supposed to mention him."

"Sorry sir. I will investigate soon." Jonathan took a couple more minutes to finish his research on other people's cases then packed up. Once he was sure he had his gun and badge he stood up and headed for the door. Jonathan decided to make a small detour and grab a coffee before he headed out. Jonathan did not drink coffee much but he did not mind the occasional cup. He walked out the police doors and breathed deeply. Jonathan began to walk down the street and smile as he gazed up into the blue sky, he looked over the skyscrapers and saw the rising sun. An eagle flies around one of the building. As he watched the eagle he thought ' If this is actually him. I can finally get my chance.'
