Third person pov
If being gay is a sin then God take Sasuke down. He's ready to douse himself in rainbow fluids if it'll get Lennox to so much as breathe in his direction. Sasuke is not just 'down bad', as they call it. Oh no, he has far surpassed that. He is crawling through the fucking trenches, you guys. He is dodging kunai, explosive tags, and so much more, all for the sake of his blossoming love. He will drag himself to victory and nothing is going to stop him. Not the academy, not his trauma, and definitely not Itachi. Sasuke has his priorities, and though they are set in goddamn stone, they are the furthest thing from straight. Case closed.
"Good morning, Lennox!" Another morning, another day of being unequivocally, head over heels in love with his redheaded angel that was clearly sent down by whatever higher power has chosen to take pity on Sasuke's tragic little life. Lennox was the only reason he gets up in the morning anymore. Sasuke goes to sleep every night for the sole purpose of getting to see him again sooner. However, Uchiha boy simply could not get yesterday of his head. Normally, he found himself ready to tackle the following days headfirst. It was rare he should find himself caught up in the past like this, but how could he not? He'd spent the whole day with Lennox. Proof that his life is nearing its peak. That peak being him and Lennox finally being together and living happily ever after, thank you for asking. It's on the horizon. Sasuke is sprinting full speed. It will not escape him.
Yesterday had been a literal dream, but like, in real life. He had gotten to see the inside of Lennox's home. Well, part of it, but he would take any crumb he could get no matter how big or small. He swore he could still smell it in the air. The smell of spiced apples, flowers, and fresh soil. Best day of his life. Unmatched. Sasuke had learned so much about his crush all in just one day, and had made some moves that could be easily labelled as 'pro gamer'. Fill his cup, put some liquor in it, because this entire ordeal deserves a speech and cheers of its own.
"A-Ah, good morning, Sasuke." Lennox popped to his feet like the perfect, adorable, flawless, faultless, gorgeous, cute, soft, beautiful, delightful, charming, ravishing, graceful, exquisite, magnificent, lovely, did he mention adorable, because adorable-- boy he just so happened to be, giving a small bow in greeting. Sasuke waved the action off under the façade of casualness. As if. Nothing about this is fucking casual, alright? He is courting in the pursuit of marriage and romance is in the fucking air, you read? I hope, for your sake, that you read. Listen here, Sasuke has appearances he must keep up in sake of this endeavor and this is simply one of them. He will undergo any trial for his love. That's what we call strength, people! Take some notes! Perseverance is alive and it's in the room!
Lennox watched Sasuke shift his bag slightly to the side so he could unzip it, blinking curiously as the other boy dug around in his bag for a bit. Lennox really liked Sasuke, to be quite honest with himself. He was nice-- not too overbearing like most around their age tended to be. He was a great friend! He was just surprisingly laid back was all. Was it... was it maybe because of his past? Maybe it had mellowed him out or... okay, wait, no Lennox! That was a simply horrible thing to think and consider, and definitely not his place! He had to keep his mind away from such rude ideas. If Sasuke could hear his thoughts right now, he'd surely be deeply offended. Lennox didn't want that. Sasuke already had so many rumors and unsolicited comments thrown at him, he didn't need someone he was going out of his way to be nice to joining the bunch.
Sasuke has been amazing, and Lennox feels like they've gotten pretty close in an incredibly short amount of time. The best friend Lennox thinks he's ever had by far, which is admittedly a little pathetic to admit. Just seeing him walk up this morning had caused an unusual leap of excitement in his chest. He wished he knew why Sasuke was so nice to him of all people. He was plain-- just a boring old gardener who lived out his days repetitively, with no real anticipation to be had or variance to be seen. His life was nothing like Sasuke's, who was going to be a ninja who went on exhilarating missions and honed his skills, who had precise talents and special points of expertise. Putting them side by side, it was clear who was more interesting, right?
