Steal

chapter 3

We run until we get to a big door that leads to the outside. They don't lock the door because we are in the middle of nowhere so there was no were to go. No one had every ran away and made it alive. We finally stopped running. I put my hands on my knees and was quiet for a moment. All I could hear were me and karmas deep breaths. "What was the purpose of running out here?" I asked kinda irritated. " look! We made it" he said as he pointed at the sky. I looked up and saw the sun starting to rise.
I had not realised that we woke up so early in the morning to begin tests. "Why is this relevant?" I asked. " I read a book not to long ago about children and there childhoods. Did you know we are still considered children in the world! Amazing" karma exclaimed. " how are you not dead yet karma?" I asked clearly bored. "Are you an idiot? I thought you would have realised by now why they put up with me. Clearly your not as smart as the rumors say. They made a breakthrough on me. I'm the second person ever and your apparently the first." Karma said. I looked up at him in surprise. Him?! The idiot that tries to run away everyday! The one who can't keep his mouth shut! How? The only way to make a breakthrough on a person is if they have been through great trauma. " why did they take you here? To this facility I mean?" I said "how did your family die" I asked.
Karma out of nowhere started laughing. I waited for him to stop and catch his breath when he did he didn't answer he just looked at me funny he giggled. He put his finger to his lips "it's a secret Anyway I just wanted you to know that I've been instructed to stay away from the other kids now to. And they told me it was OK to talk to you so if your the only human I can talk to then" I interrupted karmas speech " I don't like talking to people so don't get your hopes up" but karma was already walking back inside. " to late, see you tomorrow Bestie" he yelled over his shoulder. I rolled my eyes but made my way inside and let my thoughts wash over me. Karma....  he had a breakthrough? Is he really an idiot like I thought? Or was he acting before?  What did he mean by secrets.Why does he want to talk to me so bad. We both know that he will talk to others anyway so....why? I shake my head I shouldn't let this guy get to me. Just ignore him and he will go away like everything else. I walk back inside and close the door.
Time skip.
" you can open your eyes now" said a doctor. I opens my eyes and unstrap myself of the table. I quickly got up and made my way to the dinner table in the cafeteria. I walk in and immediately regret it. Two boys right in front of me are punching and kicking each other and one of the boys, yep you guessed it. One of the boy's was karma. " hey steal!" Karma shouted and knocked out the boy that was a second ago trying to punch him. I keep walking trying to ignore him but he keeps talking to me anyways " I would eat with you but I told mike I would meet him in the bathroom to watch a fight so.... See ya!" He yelled and started to run. I rolled my eyes and decided I should just go to sleep. This day turned out to be a bad one....well as bad as it could get.
I arrived to my room the bed was already made and a new jumpsuit already folded neatly on top. I quickly put the suit on and lay down. I eventually drift of to sleep.
In the dream
I'm running in a woods. I'm not wearing any shoe's and sweat is dripping from a face. There were chains around me feet and hands and they looked like the were ripped or cut midway. I can't remember why I'm running I just know I'm running for dear life. Than I heard a voice coming from the shadows "steal" I look around and see... Oh of course it had to. Be karma. I rolled my eyes and assumed I was running from him so I just kept running."why am I running. " I asked  " just look behind you" he said with fear in his voice. I looked behind me and a bunch of doctors and guards were chasing after me....and karma I guess. "Why are they chasing us" I yelled suddenly very frighted" because" karma said And started laughing."we escaped! "
