*beep beep beep beep*
~6am~
Shoot. School. I knew it was a bad idea to stay up till 1am facetiming Gina.
Maybe today will be the day. Maybe today will be the day I get an email back from NASA about the opportunity to explore the stars.Maybe today will be the day that Jenna will notice me.
I got myself out of my warm, cozy, oh so peaceful bed and headed downstairs.
"Morning sweetie."
"Hi mom."
I don't understand how my mom is always such a morning person. Gosh. She wakes up at 5am just for fun! Although I shouldn't complain because she's always got time to pack my lunch.~7am~
My walk to school is a long one. Long and cold one. I have no friends in my neighbourhood nor anyone under the age of 35.Every morning I come to school 50 minutes early and head to the library to study astronomy. I hate studying at home, my parents are too loud.
I write an entire 5 page note on how the sun was formed. I love learning about stars.
Jenna comes into the library.
She's wearing a plaid shirt, Doc Martin's and a rainbow scrunchie on her wrist, red hair bouncing everywhere with a bandana rolled up and used as a headband.
Cute.
I'll never be cute like that. My hair is mud brown and my wardrobe is well... dull. She looks at me.
"Oh Lottie! Hey!"I wave. She runs over and sits next to me.
"OK so I need you..." she starts.
I need her too!
"I'm failing science and I need your help." Jenna explains.
But in a different way.
"I'm only good with astronomy, I suck at biology, sorry." I explain.
Jenna starts laughing and says, "Haha, just kidding! I'm doing fine in science. I just think you're adorable."
Oh my stars does she really?
What do I say?"I think you're cute too." I tell her.
She stands up, winks at me and skips away, IS THIS REAL LIFE? Jenna LOVES ME BACK! Everything is going great,I love my life!My phone lights up.
It's an email from NASA.
"Congratulations, young astronaut.
Lottie Burk, you have been accepted..."Shit.
