I woke up with a bit of a headache.

Shit. I thought. I shouldn't have had that couple vodka shots. I rolled over to check the time. 8:20am. Shit shit shit shit shit I'm gonna miss the bus.

I quickly got changed, yanking on my jeans and blouse, grabbing two elastics and putting them on my wrist. I quickly brushed through my hair, putting on my socks and converse. I put on my glasses. Aside from the hair. I said to myself. Nerdy. As always. I clipped my suspenders onto my jeans, braiding my hair as I ran downstairs. I finished my braid as I saw my mum standing in the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie! I didn't get to say hi last night because by the time I got home you were crashed out on your bed!" She said.

Must've been the shots. I thought, but said, "Tired from all the studying." I grabbed some of her muesli and an apple, taking a bite of each then braiding the other half of my hair.

"Honey, you need something more substantial than that." My mum said, cooeing over me.

I internally groaned. "Mum I promise I'll pick something up on the way to school. I don't wanna miss my bus." I said to her.

"I could drive you." She offered.

I shook my head. I needed to catch Luke before he got on that bus and told all of his friends what happened last night. "That would mess up my schedule, mum. I've got it all laid out, specifically dependant on the bus. It's a study schedule because of my exams in the next couple of weeks." I smiled sweetly at her, and she nodded.

"Ok sweetie, good to know you're being organised." I went to leave, but she called both me and my dad over. "Since we'll be leaving while you're at school, we'll see you in a week." My mum hugged me, and so did my dad.

"You'll go straight to the Hemmings after school to sort out when you should go over for dinner?" I nodded at my dad. "And you won't go anywhere unless Liz lets you?" He asked me a bunch of questions, me nodding at every single one of them, if it was the right answer. "And whenever you're at home you promise that Luke will be in the house with you?" This last one shocked me, but I nodded and smiled sweetly at my dad.

"Of course." I said. I hugged them both. "I'm going to miss you. Have fun, and do productive things!" I said, as we said our goodbyes and I walked out of the door, grabbing my book bag on the way out.

I walked, fast paced, fuming, to my bus stop, which was at the end of my block. When I got there Luke was already there. I sat down on the bench, turning to face him.

"Luke," I said, smiling sickly at him. He looked up at me, squinting in the early morning light. "Do you remember what happened last night?" I asked him, still smiling.

He shook his head, saying in a really quiet voice, "No. Not all of it."

"How much do you remember?" I asked him.

"Ummm, up until I took those couple of shots while my mum was out. Everything's off from there on in." I heaved a deep sigh of relief. I knew Luke was drunk. I said to myself.

"You had alcohol?" I pulled a shocked, chastising face at him.

He nodded. "Took a couple of shots of the vodka you had sitting on the bench, because I felt really nervous around you girls so I thought that would help. I didn't think of the after effects." Luke moaned, holding his head in his hands.

"Here, take this." I handed him two panadol, and he took out his water bottle and took the two tablets.

"Thanks." He mumbled.

"No problem." I sat back in the chair, sighing.

Just as I was about to get my phone out and text Eilenne, the bus pulled up. We walked on, me taking one of the first few seats that were still empty. The next stop was Eilenne's, so I had to wait a couple of minutes before she got on. Luke and Michael kept on looking over at me, and Michael was elbowing Luke whenever I looked over. At one point Michael winked at me, and I gave him a look of disgust. He shrugged, turning back to his blonde shy friend. The bus stopped, and I saw Eilenne get on. She was talking with Calum, laughing and giggling along with him.

I patted the seat next to me, and Eilenne almost made a move to hug Calum, but thought better of it and sat down.

"What was that about? Dude you were flirting with Calum." I said, elbowing her.

"He just started to talk to me, seems like we get on really well." She shrugged, looking over at him. They made eye contact and both blushed, and I shook my head.

"Anyway, news." I said, grabbing Eilenne's attention. "About Luke last night." I whispered.

"Ohmygosh what about him? I totally forgot what are we gonna do? Ohmygosh he's gonna tell Calum." She put her head in her hands.

"No no no." I laughed. "You really think Luke would say that stuff without being at least a little intoxicated?" I asked. She slowly shook her head, and I smiled at her. "He said he took a couple vodka shots, like we did, although it seems to have had a bigger effect on him." I looked over at him, and he was slumped on the chair, leaning on Michael, who was constantly pushing him off. Luke was half asleep, and kept on jolting awake as the bus went over yet another bump.

"These roads really need to be fixed." I said, and Eilenne laughed.

"Anyway, oh thank goodness, now Luke won't ruin anything, like he won't say anything about what happened and our reputations can remain intact." She pushed me slightly with her shoulder, and I nodded.

"Yeah, until tomorrow, when we have to avoid Luke at all costs." I said.

"Not hard to do. He'll probably be in the corner asking for his mummy." Eilenne laughed.

I shook my head. "Whenever I'm not at the Hemmings' house for the next week, he's been assinged the presitigous position of my personal babysitter." I groaned, and so did Eilenne.

"Dammit. We'll just get a girl to grind on him and see if he shakes under the pressure. Then, when he's concentrating on what he should do with this random girl, we'll sneak away." Eilenne shrugged.

"Ohmygosh you're a genius." I hugged Eilenne.

"I know." She flipped her hair over her shoulder, and we both laughed.
