When I was 4,
my cake was blue instead of red.
I stormed off in my purple dress,
I thought the world was going to end.
When I was 6,
I fell over and hurt my arm.
For me the blood was enough to make me scream and run.
When I was 11,
I fell out with my best friend,
For me it felt like it was the very end.
At 16 I felt ugly.
No boy wanted me,
I thought I was 'too fat', 'too skinny'
my small worries took over me.
At 18 I had to choose what I wanted to be,
I didn't know, I was crying for days and weeks.
These were the moments life felt so big,
and I fell so hard.
I thought I was hidden, afraid of the dark.
Life has far more battles, believe me, I know.
Because if you break from your first fall,
the second is far greater to even mend your soul.
