Cyrus POV
I woke up at 8:00 am by my alarm clock. I laid there for a minute staring at the ceiling while the blaring from the alarm clock kept going. Finally I slapped my hand on the snooze button to wake me up 10 minutes later. I closed my eyes and laid down. About 5 minutes later I felt someone crawl into my bed. I opened my eye and saw my son Barry. I pretended to still sleep, but he saw me wake up.
"Dad, Mom said to hurry up since your plate is getting cold," he said.
I got up and lifted him up from the bed and onto the floor.
"Tell her I'll be there in a minute". I said
"Okay," he said while running out of the door.
I rolled over and sighed. I got up and put my sweatpants on and looked for a shirt to put on. After that I walked into the bathroom and spent a good amount of time on my hair and did all the other morning care.
I walked downstairs to see everyone at the table eating oatmeal. My twins Barry and Diamond and of course my wife Iris. I sat down in the empty seat, and started eating. It was chocolate chip oatmeal my favorite. When I was half done Iris said something that I wasn't able to make out.
"What did you say?" I asked.
" I was asking if you want to go to the park today. It's a nice day, plus the children stay inside all day enough," she said.
"Sure," I said.
"You okay? You look down today," she said. "I'm just tired." I said.
After I was done, I put my bowl in the sink. Iris came up to me and she looked in my eyes and kissed me softly. I kissed her back, but I can't say that I felt anything towards her for it was just a kiss.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you, too," I lied.
After that I went on my morning jog. I thought about what was happening. I was married to a girl I met in middle school and we had 2 kids, but that was not the problem. I don't have any attraction for Iris. It's confusing how we even made it this far. I just need to get everything together.As I was thinking, my phone rang. It was Buffy. She usually calls to check up on me every month. I answered as she was sitting on her couch.
"Hey, Cyrus," she said.
"Hey, Buffy," I said.
"So, I have some big news," she said,
"Ooh, I love big news! Tell me, tell me," I said and a kinda of childish tone
"Wow, you have a beard and you are about 6 ft tall, but you still act like a middle schooler." Buffy teased.
"Shut up, just tell me the news," I responded defensively
"Well, after Andi spent almost a month in her studio, she finished her painting and she already has multiple buyers." Buffy said
"OMG, that is such good news." I said
"And I have more- she's having a party," Buffy said.
"And, you need help picking a dress," I interrupted.
"No I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come." she said. I had to think I did miss being together and I havent seen my hometown in almost 10 years.
" Sure i'm ready to reunite the Good Hair Crew" I said
"Yay we're are going to have so much fun and for the 100th time no one in the last 10 years has called us that" Buffy said
"Alright i'll ask Iris if it's good" I said. She gave me a concerning look
"Cyrus when are you going to end this you obviously don't like her" She said
" I don't know Buffy maybe when the kids leave for college, but let's not talk about this now" I said
"Okay, I gotta go Marty needs a shower buddy" Buffy said
"Eww bye buffy" I said
" Bye Cyrus " Buffy said
