"These are for you-"

"ugh that's dumb"

"hey reba, I got you-"

Narvel slammed his fist against the table in anger.

Why can't I just talk to her? he questioned himself. He picked back up the beautiful bouquet of roses and rehearsed again.

"Wow, Reba-"

NOOO- he mentally kicked himself.

"Forget it, I'll just take it as it comes" he said outloud to himself.

The clock in the hall chimed 4:45, he should have already been on his way to Reba's. He grabbed his keys, wallet, and clenched onto the bouquet. This could be his only chance, and he didn't want to blow it.

The whole drive to Reba's apartment was a disaster, it was crazy how long that few minute drive was for him tonight. He wanted to impress Reba with all he had planned.

He pulled into the parking lot and parked, shutting off the engine he exhaled and looked at the dashboard. He still had five minutes until their "official" pick up time. He nervously tapped his fingers on the wheel, he kept running through his first lines in his head, and practiced what he was going to say during dinner.

He decided to just go to her door, there was no use in torturing himself anymore.

With a shaking hand he grabbed the roses, and headed towards the building.

Narvel cleared his throat, adjusted his posture and knocked on the apartment door.

"Just a second" he heard Reba say.

He heard her feet come closer and closer to the door before she opened it.

She smiled at him as he handed her the roses.

"These are for you. You look beautiful" he said calmly just like he sort of rehearsed.

"Thank ya darling'" she said letting her accent pour over him.

He smiled and nodded.

"I'm going to put these in water, come on in" she said smelling the roses, welcoming him in.

He smiled and walked in.

He watched as she swiftly moved from the living room to the kitchen. He heard the water run and her talking, but nothing seemed to make sense to him.

"Are you listening to me?" she asked coming back from the kitchen.

"Uh what?!" he jumped at her.

she laughed, "I was saying that roses are my favorite"

He smiled "oh, well I'm glad you like them"

She smiled and nodded.

"I love them."

He was lost in her appearance. Her red hair curled, stopping just above her breast. The curls capturing her facial features, bringing out the blueness of her eyes. She was wearing a black dress that stopped just above the knee, it was very plain, it has some beads on it, but it was form fitting and it really showed off her figure. It looked like the dress was made for her, black high heeled pumps completed the look. She was gorgeous.

"Are you ready to go?" she asked smiling at the way he was looking at her.

"Yes ma'am" he said offering his arm.

"Well aren't you a gentleman" she said taking his arm.

He smirked.

"Narvel, we dont have to go to a five star restaurant." Reba said as she noticed the familiar lot of 'One Enchanted Evening'. Many if not all celebrities ate there, one because it wasn't unusual, and not too many fans were there, so you could eat dinner peacefully.

"But you said you liked Italian" he simply stated parking into a lot that was somewhat close to the building.

"I know, but this is really really nice." She said as he turned off the engine.

"All you have to do is keep the napkin on your lap, and start with the silverwear that's furthest away from you." he said reaching for the door handle.

She hit his arm.

"I know that, but you've done a lot already, and if this is our first date imagine all the other dates after this that you're going to have to live up too."

He smiled, but said nothing. "all the other dates" rang in his head.

Narvel opener Rebas car door and again offered his arm.

"Woo-Wee you are a gentlemen!" she said taking his arm.

"What can I say?" he played along with her.

She shrugged and smiled.

"Reservations?" the waiter all suited up questioned as the couple entered the restaurant.

"Blackstocks, table of two."

The waitor looked over the list and finally spotted the name.

"Ah, right this way" he said leading them to the fancy dinning hall. He sat the warm bread sticks in front of them, and handed them both a menu. The table was already set, it held a single rose in the middle and was dimly lit. it was perfect in rebas mind.

"I'll give y'all a chance to look over the menu, I'm Rick, and I'm your waiter." The nice, tall, lanky, early twenties man said.

Reba smiled and nodded, "Thank you honey." She said back to him.

She turned her attention towards Narvel.

"This is so beautiful" she said.

"I thought you would like it" he said shyly.

"I love it, a lot" She said looking deep into his eyes.

He looked back and her and smiled "I couldn't think of anyone else who is more deserving of this, than you"

Reba felt a huge smile spread across her face, he was a real sweetheart. "That's very sweet of you, I'm very lucky to spend it with you." she said.

She held both of her hands out letting Narvel that it was okay to take them if he wanted. He took the gesture and held her hands in his.

A few glasses of whine, and a pleasurable dinner concluded their night. Narvel was head over heels for Reba, and well Reba couldn't help but wish the night could have lasted longer.

"Thanks for tonight" Reba said as Narvel walked her to the apartment door.

"It was my pleasure." he said back to her.

They looked at each other, and then Narvel closed the gap between them, the taste of strawberry whine on Rebas lips is something he will never forget.

not my best, but I have some great ideas. review:)
