I thought after I died, I shall enter the gate of heaven. Welcomed by the heavenly being.
It was all I've ever wanted. Living my short life to the fullest and continues the journey on the hereafter.
Basically, I was diagnosed with brain tumor when I was 10 years old. So much for a drama, the doctor predicted I shall not live seeing my 20th birthday.
I'm fine with that, at least I can get myself ready beforehand.
Yes, I died a year ago.
In an empty room on my hospital bed.
I tend to sleep alot in the last few months of my life, this is normal for a brain tumor patient. As the tumor gets bigger, I felt drowsy and tired more frequently.
That very last sleep I had, I'd forgotten how to wakeup.
I'd dream of being in a dark and cold place. After a while, fear starts to kick in - I struggled to get out of this nightmare.
Little did I know, I found myself awaken in my hospital room.
It was a moment of relieved and soon after followed by a great sorrow.
I was standing in an empty room beside a lifeless body of mine. Staring down on my own face as tears started to roll down my cheeks.
'Its over and you did great man' I told myself.
Suddenly, a beam of light shine through the ceiling above diverting my attention.
"Ohh! Its time" I wiped my face and began to straighten my hospital robe, at the same time, fixed my hair real quick.
I just wanted to look nice and neat before I left this world.
An angel appeared from the light with a pair of white feather wings and a greyish white formal suit attire. He had a navy blue eyes, brown short hairs and lean tall figured.
"William Joshua Johnson, 19 years old, causes of deadth, brain tumour. Is that correct?"
"Yes" I answered without hesitation.
The angel seems busy reading some piece of paper. I assumed it was just some sort of my life record.
"Hello william, Im rafael, the angel responsible for you. I can see here that you were a very nice person" he finally spoken after a few moment of silence. He even gave me an angelic smile while looking straight into my eyes.
That smile made me sighed. I bet all the girls in school will fall head over heels for this guy. If he was a real person, I can't promise not to be gay.
"Well, yes thank you rafael" I uttered.
"Im hereby as your angel, will hand you this confidential letter" he bow his head slightly and handed me a piece of paper.
I was about ready to open the letter but again the angel spoken.
"I will see you again in a bit or as long as you completed your unfinished business" he gave me one last smile and vanished into thin air.
My heart beat faster, I felt it was about to jump out of my body. He left me shocked, confused and furious all at the same time.
"Wait, come back! You said I was a nice person and a nice person deserved that heaven you promise! Take me with you, please!" I raised my voice hoping for him to hear me.
Then again, I remembered the letter I was given. I quickly ripped the letter opened and the content read as;
Dear William Joshua Johnson,
We would like to welcome you to the life after death. Thank you for living well. You had been good and brilliant.
Unfortunately, there is a few small task you should attend before you could proceed.
Please be sure to behave well in your temporary stay on earth. Hope we can see you soon.
Best regards,
Rafael.I let out a long sighed and curled down on my feet.
'Great! Cause a mere brain tumour wasn't enough' I moaned.
