I jolt awake from that horrible nightmare, breathing heavily. That horrible nightmare that keeps me from sleep. That horrible nightmare that had became a reality. I notice a slight wetness of my cheeks and look at my pillow to see a huge tear stain on in. I had cried myself to sleep last night because of the memories that keeps hunting me. My parents. It has been such a long time since I had last said the words mom and dad. Since I had been that happy, bubbly little girl that did not have a doubt in the world. I miss the old me.
I unwillingly get up, and get ready for school. Most girls care about how they look walking into school right? Wrong. I basically just go to school how I look. It's not like I really have a choice. My aunt is big on saving money so she dosen't spend her money on clothes that she claims "I already have." I don't own the most fanciest clothes in the school, I will tell you that.
I take a look in the mirror. I see staring back at me a pair of plain looking pale green eyes and my messy brunette hair.
I run down to the kitchen to quickly grab a banana for breatfast and I see a sticky note left on the counter. I pick it up and read it.
Winter,
I will be back late tonight. Please
pick up some milk and fruits from the store
after school. Love, auntie.
I stuffed the note in my pocket and grabbed my keys to head towards the hellhole I call school.
