The Do Over

Why Now

I could feel my heart beating faster and faster ... this isn't happening that's all I kept thinking. I looked at Chyanne with a panicked look she looked back at me confused and then followed my eyes to where he stood. It took her a few minutes to register who it was but when she did ... man if looks could kill he would have burst into flames then and there. I couldn't stop looking at him he hasn't changed in the slightest, he still has is short blond hair his slim but muscular body his beautiful tattoos on his arms and chest and those beautiful damn green eyes of his. I was completely frozen I couldn't talk or move I could barely breathe, it took everything in me not to cry. I knew my boss would get pissed if I didn't start my set so I finally forced words out of my mouth
" Hey guys it's your girl Serenity!" Everyone cheered .. the crowd loves me
"It's karaoke night so you know what that means! Put in your requests and we'll get to all of you soon!, but for now listen to this and have fun!"
As soon as the words were out I ran to the bathroom sobbing hoping he wouldn't see me. I lock myself in the bathroom trying to calm my breathing but I couldn't I was suffocating... like it was all happening over again.
*flashback*
I had just gotten home from work and I couldn't find Mason
"Babe you home? Mason!"
"I'm in the bedroom!"
I walked in to Mason packing up his things. Boxes everywhere and his duffle bag in his hands.
"I was hoping I'd be out of here before you got home"
"What's going on Mason? Why are you packing your things?" He looked at me and I could see he had been crying his beautiful blond hair a mess
"I'm sorry serenity ... but I can't do this anymore, it's not fair to you I've been making you miserable for months... we have to end this before I hurt you more" a single tear falls from his face
"What are you talking about?! I'm not miserable! Please Mason just sit and talk to me ... don't do this to me please" next thing I knew I was bawling mason wouldn't even look at me
"No. I'm sorry. I'll have someone get my boxes tomorrow while you're at work." He goes to walk out our door when I stop him in the living room. Grabbing ahold of his arm
"Mason please don't leave me you're my everything my best friend! Please don't leave please!" I knew I was being pathetic but I didn't care I needed him to stay. He looked at me with sorrow in his eyes, he cups my face and kisses me a kiss full of passion and love but he pulls away
"I'm so sorry serenity" and we walked out the door leaving me bawling on the floor
*end flashback*
I look at myself in the mirror and pull myself together. No don't let him do this, you're fine you're going to be fine. I take one more look in the mirror and leave the stalls. I walk to the bar where Chyanne is
"You okay?!?" I see the panic in her face it warms my heart
"Yeah I'm fine I'll be fine" she smiles and hands me a drink. I look at her sternly
"You know I don't drink Chy not while I'm working "
"I know but in this situation you do" I take the drink knowing she's right I take a sip of my drink when I feel someone tap on my shoulder. I turn and meet the eyes of one Mason Steele
"Hey serenity, long time no see" he smiles at me and I swallow my drink .... Why now.
