As more writing appeared on his arm, Castiel sighed. It was midterms season, which meant his arm was covered in cheat notes again.
Not his, of course, Cas was a straight A student by the power of his own intelligence and hard work.
It was his soulmate. In this world, people could find their soulmates in a special way.
Bodyart.
Anything one of the two draws on themselves (or has drawn on them) appears on their soulmate too. Tattoos weren't an exception, and that sometimes caused quite a bit of problems between a couple who hadn't even met yet.Cas' soulmate, unfortunately, wasn't very creative. Nor hardworking, it seemed. All he ever wrote on his arms were cheat notes for tests, and the occasional reminder to buy food or pick Sammy up, whoever that was.
Cas, on the other hand, was very creative. Drawing little doodles on his arms helped him focus in class, and was generally fun. If it bothered his soulmate... well, that wasn't his problem.
Midterms finally ended a week later, ans Cas could breathe normally again.
It was friday, and Meg, a small blonde and his best friend, caught up to him on the way to their first lesson."Hey unicorn, can I speak to her highness now that midterms are over?" Meg asked, sarcasm dripping from her words and a smirk on her lips.
Cas flinched, realizing that yet again, in his frantic studying, he had completely ignored her.
"Yeah, hey. Sorry about that, I'm mostly on autopilot while studying for exams.""Yeah, no kidding," Meg snorted, "anyways, now that you're back, why don't we go grab coffee and doughnuts after school? We both need a reward for aceing the tests!"
Cas looked at Meg with a raised eyebrow, to which she nodded in confirmation, and he whooped quietly in triumph.
"Sure, why not?" Cas agreed, already thinking about those delicious glazed doughnuts at their usual shop.
The rest of the day went by quickly without a hitch, and soon Cas and Meg were on their way to the cafe.
They soon had their coffee, tea (for Meg, she hated coffee), and doughnuts, and were sat in the corner by the window. They chatted for a while, Cas doodling on his arm between sips and bites, until the door to the cafe opened, and Meg froze a moment later. Cas didn't notice her pause, absorbed in his doodling as he was, and also missed the tall, lean, spiky haired boy who stepped in.
"Hey, Cas, I, uh... I have to go." Meg suddenly said, causing Cas to look up suprised.
"What? But we just-"
"Sorry, it's my dad. Gotta go, bye!" Meg cut him off, gathered her stuff and booked it out of the cafe, barely stopping to take her to-go cup of tea with her.---
Deans day was pretty shitty. To start off, there was school, which was never fun, but then, he had gotten in a fight with his little brother, Sammy.
Since both their parents died in a fire when they were young, Dean has always felt a sense of responsebility for Sam, even though their fathers friend, Bobby Singer, took them in and treated them like his own sons.
Sometimes, Dean came off a bit overbearing, and Sam would tell him to just leave him alone! This, of course, riled Dean up and they'd fight.
Usually, these fights would end with Dean getting Sam a couple doughnuts, and Sam, not wanting to upset Dean, would accept and they'd eat them together.Today had been no different, right up to Dean going to his favourite cafe after school. Only, once he stepped in, something was different.
Someone. He was sitting in a corner by the window to Deans right. He was turned slightly away, so all Dean could see was a mop of gently mussed up dark hair and broad shoulders haunched forward.
