My father left me sad inside this world

She found him in the attic with a noose

He died inside before the rope he curled

My mother made me swear to make a truse

Stay here she asked fearing being alone

Don’t leave me like your father did please stay

My mother never guessed he would betray

The life he took hurt us more than he thought

Now i’m picking out a bed to bury

To say goodbye the chance he gave us not

So now he shall never see me marry

My father is dead buried in the ground

I broke my promise I shall never sound
