His Dark Eyes

Chapter I

Taehyung sat on the rock, positioned to look over the valley. It was a picturesque view that made him smile. He stretched his wings out and let the breeze ruffle his feathers. He chuckled as he watched Jungkook and Jimin flying around, trying to knock one another out of the sky.

 "TaeTae!" Jungkook called, "Come and join us!"

 "I can't, it's about time for me to wake up!" he yelled back. Jungkook pouted as he lowered himself to the ground, followed by Jimin. 

 "Why do you have to go?" Jungkook whined.

 "Because this is a dream, Kookie!" Taehyung laughed, messing up Jungkook's hair. The maknae scowled as he tried to fix his hair. "Come and visit me soon. I like to see you guys in person, you know. I forget half of our dream meet ups."

 "We will visit soon. We've been slacking for years because of chasing after you so we have to make up for it." Jimin said, smirking.

 "I hope you're not implying that it's my fault." Taehyung said with false seriousness. Jungkook gave a nervous laugh, making Taehyung soften his expression. He pulled the two into a hug. "We'll talk again soon, okay?"

Taehyung opened his eyes slowly. The valley was gone, replaced by his bedroom. It was at that moment his phone began playing the annoying melody he chose for his alarm. He turned it off immediately and sat up. His eyes found the framed picture on his nightstand and he cracked a small smile. It was a picture of him kissing Miles with the sunset as the backdrop.

 Taehyung got up and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and fix his hair. He had dyed his hair recently to match his natural hair colour. He had liked the orange but when his roots became clear he couldn't decide on a new colour. Miles suggested dyeing his hair his natural colour until he chose a new one. When he had finished in the bathroom, Taehyung got dressed. It was a cool morning so he dressed in light clothes but put a hoodie in his backpack just in case. He stepped outside and was greeted by the fully blooming cherry blossom tree in their front yard. He smiled at it, recalling Miles' reaction when he first saw it. Miles loved cherry blossoms more than anyone he had ever known.

 He walked to Miles' house, a slight spring in his step. When he arrived he found Miles sitting on the porch, his face glued to his phone. Miles didn't seem to notice that Taehyung had arrived, he was so engrossed in his phone. And he remained so even as Taehyung walked right up to him. He cleared his throat and made Miles jump, almost dropping his phone.

 "What the hell!" Miles breathed heavily, hand on over his heart.

 "You were so stuck in your phone you didn't even notice me." Taehyung chuckled. "What's so interesting anyway?"

 "This damn Flappy Bird game. It makes me furious but I can't stop." Miles said as he got up and gave Taehyung a kiss.

 "Flappy Bird? Aren't you a little late to the party?"

 "Yes I am aware that the hype train for that fucking bird is long gone." Miles said, rolling his eyes. He grabbed Taehyung's hand and they started their walk to school.

 "So Nathan told me we're getting a new kid, I wonder what they'll be like." Miles said casually.

 "I better stay alert then." Taehyung said with a smile.

 "Huh? Why?" Miles asked confused.

 "Well, last time a new kid showed up, you ended up dating him." Taehyung smirked, making Miles chuckle.

 "Don't worry, I only have eyes for you." Miles kissed the angel on the cheek, giggling.

Mrs Elton walked in shortly after the bell rang, followed by a boy with dark red hair. The aura he was giving off was palpable. He smiled devilishly as his eyes swept the class. He stopped when his eyes landed on Miles. The two held for a moment before Miles broke the connection to look at Taehyung. The angel was staring intently at the new boy, eyes narrowed and brows furrowed.  Miles looked back at the boy but he was no longer looking at Miles. Instead, he briefly glanced at Taehyung and looked him up and down. Miles felt jealousy fluttering in his heart.
