Created on earth but was considered defective for not having the correct gem shape, size or weapons. He is also considered as one of the only rare "male" gem. Considered a failure they dumped him into the ocean. After spending centuries under the ocean his gem instead of rotting merged with the water giving him more control over water and mud. He hasn't been around gems for so long that he tends to befriend the friendly corrupted gems and learned how to speak corrupt gem. Some told him about the earths gem defenders that aren't corrupted and that they are called the crystal gems
