FIRST DRAFT!!!
This is my life in New York City for almost five years. I came here when I was on the age of eighteen, still a teenager whom could not think wisely enough just yet. Reflection on the long mirror showed a girl stood formally in her PA outfit, hair was tied in a ponytail. It was fascinating midnight black that ended right above her ass. High heels that she complained hurting her feet long ago was now cozy on her. The girl chuckled at how much she had changed over the years.
The click-clacking sound that the pair of stilettos made was the only noise could be heard in the LG1 parking-lot of the condominium I was living in. No need no watch to know that I was indeed early than anybody else whom probably was still sleeping in, dreaming about the life they couldn't get. My cream handbag that had a brand I never thought of acknowledging it was put aside on the empty seat, opening it after I had started the engine just to fish out a pair of spectacles I needed. The BMW sped swiftly on the road toward my only destination; the Luxxis Company building.
As soon as I entered the massive building, the smell of brewed coffee and freshly baked bread hit my nostril. I then realized that I actually hadn't take my breakfast yet, thus I carelessly walked into the café promising a good king of meal to myself.
"Sorry, Mr. Barton."
Great I never intended to come to work an hour late. The alarm was pretty sure had been locked at 6 AM, no doubt to that unless there was someone else who decided it was fun to changed it. Now, nothing could be done to save both my life and job except the big boss's mood itself.
"Sorry? I know you better than yourself, Mrs. Grey. You said you set your alarm at six but the snooze button is always there for you to hit on. Am I right, Mrs. Grey?"
"Uh.."
"I said, am I right, Evren?"
"Yes." Heat started to crawl up my face. It doubled over when the fact of boss's loud voice obviously could be heard by those other workers outside. Deciding to just work as usual and neglect the outside chaos, which mostly focusing on the rumor about boss's new scandal and a few chit chat here and there about my yet another fault. Even me myself wondered how much longer would I last here since a PA was easy to find in this city.
The folders on the table were scattered, but I was yet to find the old project in California file the boss needed. I was guessing that it was on the second layer of a bookshelf in Mr. Barton's office room, but he denied it. At last, I picked up my phone and dialed the boss's number, slicking my hair back to its place which had failed miserably.
"Yes?"
"Boss, I really do suggest you to search the file you needed in your room."
"I have told you this quite clearly, Evren. It is not in here."
I can't believe this guy.
The folders I have searched through were left scattered on the desk, leaving them for me to put them back to their place. The messy ponytail I untied. The sweat was making me uncomfortable nevertheless, the pencil and my big rimmed glasses were left on unconsciously. A habit I couldn't get rid of when I was stressed. Furiously I paraded toward the office across from mine, ready to strangle that man.
First knock. Second knock. Third knock.
"Come in."
The door opened without hesitation, revealing a guy who had his feet on the desk with eyes closed in comfort. Why guys supposed to be the head of everything was beyond my imagination when they were the laziest creature on earth. They could be said working swiftly only when they were compared to sloths.
Maybe I just had the worst male creature as a boss.
I ignored his presence completely and proceeded to my prior plan on finding the said file. The second layer I searched thoroughly one by one despite the non-stop gazing I got from Mr. Lazy. Moving to another layer of the bookshelf, I took a glimpse on my hand watch, it displayed 1:10 PM. I only had 20 minutes before the lunchtime was over. A sigh escaped my lips. I turned around and walked out, brushing off the callings I got from the boss.
Call me rude but I'm totally done with him.
"Ev, are you alright?" Kayla, one of the officer inquired. Her eyebrows started to match mine, deeply furrowed. She was the one who acted like my mother, always be there to check on me all the time though she already had three kids herself, she still had the time for me, creating a strong bond between us.
"Yeah. I'm fine, don't worry."
"You sure, hun?"
"One hundred percent," I replied with my hands making two thumbs up with a fake smile plastered on my face.
"Very well then. The boss asked you to make him a cup of coffee."
As if I couldn't hear what Kayla had said, I asked her again as a confirmation and an excuse for me to blow up right this instant.
"Your lovely boss had asked you for his coffee, Evren."
Deep breath, Ev. He is your boss. Just breathe in and breathe out.
The pantry wasn't that far away, therefore, I decided to just find anything edible in there as I busied myself by making his 'royal highness' a coffee. "Sure. See you later, Kayla."
An Espresso Dolce Gusto capsule that was kept on the first drawer I took out and inserted it into the coffee machine lazily. Then, my eyes began to seek for something eatable for my grumbling stomach. The upper rack was slightly opened, easier for me to detect what it was contained of.
A Sour Cream and Onion flavored Lay's I think, according to its green package, but it was just a guess, it could be something else. Seconds later, the machine beeped, indicating that the coffee was done. The grumbling got louder. Eyes darted back to the rack. Hand swiftly reached for it. It was now opened, as I guessed; it was Lay's.
Heaven on Earth. Forgive me owner for eating without your permission.
"What are you doing?"
"Having my lunch, Mister," I said in a 'duh' tone.
"With someone else's snack?"
"What are you talking about? Of course it is mine." The food I was holding I pulled closer in a motion of saying that it was mine though I did it somewhat hesitantly.
"Evren, Evren, last I checked the snack belongs to me. So please, do me an honor of repaying MY snack."
"Perhaps it's a coincidence you know. I mean there are a lot of Lays in store with the exact same flavor," I argued, making him feel more irritated.
He moved closer to me, having me backed away slightly, though the slightly had my back hit the edge of the modern cabinets of the pantry room. I wanted to warn him to get off my body that was practically had glued to him, but my mouth wouldn't let me utter those words out. My hands were no use as well.
His brown eyes stared into me with complete and utter lust, while I was too focused on his acts, a soft lips attached to mine in a flash, making me freeze on the spot. He moved his lips slowly yet eagerly, groaning in frustration when I didn't reply his action.
Only then I found the courage and strength to push him off and ran away as fast as I could, grabbing my bag and left the company in a rush. People's worried face I ignored as they would judge me if I did tell what I had gone through and second, it was none of their problems.
