The Golden Woman

We walk hand in hand through the sand, each grain tingling against my skin. The waves wash up and meet our toes as we move along the seemingly endless beach. I look to my left and see the ocean, waves frothing and mixing for miles, seemingly never ending. The sky slowly draws to a sunset. The most majestic sunset I have ever seen. Unobstructed by any horizon or building. The deep blues almost mixing with the bright reds, almost too eye catching to ignore. My eyes focus in, seeing the thing in front of me. A person. A woman in a long flowing sundress, her eyes catching and playing along to the colours of the sky. The deep brown almost sending me into a trance. Her wild red curls flow behind her, dancing and playing in the subtle breeze. As the sky grows darker, the ground comes alive. Slowly the sand starts to glow a magical blue, reflecting in her eyes in an even more brilliant way. She leads me into the water and I watch as the disturbed water seemed to have a small glow in it as well. Almost as if the water was both beaconing and shooing me. We dance in the waist deep water, our hands tracing in the water almost as if chased by small lightning bugs. The moon and the full eclipse of the stars shown down on us, the sky completely clear. It was almost magical. I gathered her in my arms and we shared a loving embrace, holding on for almost too long. She gasps and cups water in her hands. Before I can ask, she shows me what she has caught, a tiny jellyfish, no bigger than a fingernail, glowing in her hands. She places it back and we wade out of the water, sitting on a warm towel. We watched our feet glow from the sand for a while, saying nothing, yet it felt as though we were sharing the secrets of the universe.
We kiss and fall asleep in each others arms.
