Chapter 4: Rival

Jungkook's Pov

I'm right here at my living room, looking at Hye Mi's umbrella. How can such a person do such a thing? The word "sacrifice" doesn't even exist.

Well, did she fall inlove with me with just one glance? Daebak! Or, I'm just too boastful?

I want to sleep early but I can't stop my brain from functioning. I forgot, I drank coffee. Tsskk.

Hye Mi's Pov

My umbrella! It's a precious umbrella since a friend gave it to me. How do you feel right now umbrelly?

I need to sleep for tomorrow.

Time skipped~

I got ready for my early class. I need to be excited. Learning is exciting!!

I went down and made breakfast.

"GrandMa! Halmo! The breakfast is ready!" I shouted. She went down after.

"Mi! Do you know what day is it today?" My grandma asked.

Hmm? "January... 28. Why?" I asked. It's unusual for her to ask a day, probably I'm the one who should be asking.

"Something speacial.... You don't remember?" She asked. She keeps on asking. I'll be late.

"It's your birthday today Mi! Happy Birthday!" She shouted and gave me a box.

"Open it before you sleep. Ok?" She reminded.

"Ok. Eat right now before I eat that all" I said leaving her a smile.

I did my routine and went off.

I walked towards our school notice Taehyung. I want to avoid him. It'll be a burden for him to see me.

"Hye Mi!" Taehyung shouted. He recognized me?

"How did you know I'm me?" I asked.

"Eun Bi has many make up putted on her face unlike yours that looks so pale and natural" He said then smiled.

"You're not angry?" I asked. He talks like nothing happened.

"I am" He replied.

"I am angry to myself. The truth why I accused you is that Eun Bi is my childhood friend and I am obligated to protect her. Why? It made me protect her because of his father" He said. He's so straight but Eun Bi looks someone important for him.

"Is her attitude the same as before?" I asked. Am I an interviewer or something?

"Let's talk about this during launch. We might get late" He said. I looked at the nearest clock. Shoot!!! It's past 7 am.

I ran as fast as I can. I have a job, I should avoid detentions but look at me right now... Being late.

"No need for running. We know that detention will just awaits us" He said calmly. He doesn't understand.

"I have a job after class!" I ran very fast even though my hair is still messy. I don't even care about my looks.

When I went to my school I saw the teacher collecting the late students.
I don't want to go to detention class.

"Look at this guests we have. Stand up over there!" The teacher shouted. I hurridly did what he said.

"Sorry for taking your time You wouldn't have standing right here" He apologized. There's nothing more I can do about it.

"Past is Past" I said then I gave him an assuring smile.

We stood up outside until the first period ends.

"You can now go to your respective room. I can let you go for detention this time but the second time, I have no mercies" The teacher said. After the teacher said his remarks, I immediately run towards my room.

"Ms. Yeon. You are going to be standing up until my class is over" My teacher said. It's better than attending detention class.

I stood outside the room for a long time. I don't really blame Taehyung but, I could've talk to him later in lunch time.

The good thing is that I'm a little advance in math. We really need to study especially when you are a scholar.

Time skipped~ Lunch

Do I need to talk to Taehyung?

I let out a sigh. I'm very exhausted. What a day to start.

This is how I celebrate my birthday.

"Owww!!! Yuckk!!!! The insect is here!!" I can already identify who it was.

"Not answering?" Eun Bi stood infront of me. He brought many girls with her. Will she kill me?

"I'm not in a good mood. Tomorrow will do" I said with an exhausted look.

"Acting cool won't make you one" She said and pushed me. It was so strong that I bumped my head.

"Ahh!!.... Can you please stop?! If you are beautiful then you are! Don't bully a person just because she looks like you or maybe you're just too jealous" I said without being cautious.

All of my classmates looked at me with a shocked expression. I know I did something bad today. I'm sorry Halmo.

"S-sorry" I said. She smirked at me.

"Your sorry won't change anything honey" She said. Here we go again. I am ready for the slap.

"Hye Mi! I was waiting for you at the cafeteria but you are too late" Taehyung said then pulled me outside by grabbing my wrist.

"Thank you" I said.

"She's already bullying you. This is getting out of hand" He said with a worried voice.

"I'm fine it's just that I need to suffer the pain everyday" I said then smiled even though my heart is already crying.

"Let's sit down first" He suggested. I then sat down to the nearest school bench.

"Is Eun Bi always like that?" I brought the topic I always want to ask. He calmed down then spoke.

"She was not like that before. Her previous father died last 4 years. She have a new father but more strict and mostly a casino addict. She is always shouted and abused by her new father and forgot what love really is. Her mother is in California working" He said while crying.

"I promised to protect her. She lost her heart. That's the time she changed. I want her to be back from being kind and gentle. She was a hardworker and the smartest in class but all of those came to an end. She changed in a bad way" He said. They might have a very close relationship.

"What's your relationship between Eun Bi?" I asked.

"I already told you that she's my childhood friend. Not just that, She is my FIRST LOVE" He said. I felt sympathy. I felt broken.

Biinngg! Biinngg!

I heard the class bell rang.

"You need to go now" Taehyung said.

"As if I can leave you behind like this" I said then gently patted his back.

"I know you are a scholar. If your grades decrease because of me, I might not forgive my self" He said. Cutie.

"Fine. I'll go ahead. Hurry and go back to your room!" I said rushing to my room.

Taehyung's Pov

You look exactly like Eun Bi before. From looks to personality, all are identical. Everytime I see you, my heart beats so fast just like those times that I cherish.
