"Mummy?" I ask. Mummy is sitting on the bathroom floor. Why is she lying over the toilet? Why is mummy's eye puffy?
"Yes baby?" She replies and she quickly slammed down the lid. Slam!
"Why are you over the toilet? Are you sicky?" I shuffle into the bathroom and slide down the wall. My butt hits the floor and it is stingy. Sting sting sting. Like a bee. Buzz! Those little fat bees, always making me go puffy and red! Daddy makes my mummy go puffy and red. He says she likes to go puffy and red, and I shouldn't tell anybody. But sometimes mummy leaks water from her eyes after daddy and her play wrestling.
"No baby. Come here. Come to mummy." Mummy opens her arms up wide wide wide! Swoosh! I make mummy better! Oh no. Mummy is leaking water from her eyes again. It's getting me all wet!
"Mummy, you are leaking water again!" I push them away. "All better." She is smiling now. I make mummy happy. I am her favourite person in the whole wide world. She loves me better than daddy, and Lulu and Nanny and Auntie Shay-shay. Me! Me me me!
"Yes Bobby, all better now." Now mummy is laughing. Laugh laugh laugh. Happy happy happy. We are both really happy. "Come on now. Bed time." Mummy stands up with a deep breath. Puff puff puff. "Is your daddy around?" Daddy is downstairs. He is drunk with the bad water mummy and him talk really loudly about. Daddy makes me drink the bad water sometimes when mummy isn't there. It makes me feel all sick and I throw up in the toilet and sick goes all over me. And daddy is a shouty daddy. Shout shout shout. Every day, he is very shouty and his faces goes red like the tomatoes in the pots on window sill that grow really really big. They cover up all of it and I can't see the other houses.
"Daddy is downstairs on Coiny." Mummy nods and she goes to the stairs. Boom boom boom. Down she goes.
I love Coiny. Coiny is the big couch in the living room with the big rips. He eats our money because I find it in his stomach when I play explorer. Mummy gives Coiny money all the time. We play hide and seek with the money. Daddy doesn't know about Coiny eating our money. Mummy said I can't tell daddy or he will get very angry and make mummy go purple and red and he make me leak water from my eyes. Sometimes daddy puts me in the shed and locks the door. It is very cold but I have mr blanket to make me warm. Snug as a bug. I am a snug bug. Mummy calls me snug bug when I go to bed. I snuggle down down down under my covers and fall asleep into dream land where I am the king of everything and daddy is a nice daddy and he buys mummy and me and Lulu ice cream and we go play on the beach. Sometimes, I grow wings and I fly high high high above the sky, through the clouds. I go into space and jump on the planets and play football with them. But when I wake up, daddy and mummy are always shouting. Shout shout shout. Then they go boom boom boom in their bedroom, then mummy leaks water from her eyes in my bedroom.
Mummy and daddy are shouty downstairs right now. Lulu is screaming. Scream scream scream. She is in her cot in her room. It's next to mine and at night, she wakes me up because she's always wanting a bottle. I always tell her to be quiet, but mummy gets her one. Daddy never ever gets Lulu a bottle.
There is a crash downstairs. Glass. Mummy might get cut. I shoot to the stairs and climb onto the banister to slide down. Slip slip slide. When I go to the park with Lulu and mummy I go on the slide and sore really high. I touch the clouds with my feet and then I fly back down and become a worm because I go across the floor without walking. Then mummy pushes me back up to the sky and I am a bird again. Fly up high.
I race into the kitchen as quick as a racing car from the tv and mummy is on the floor. Mummy likes the floor. She is always on the floor taking a nap after daddy and her shout.
"You stupid bitch!" Daddy shouts. Why did daddy call mummy a doggy? Mummy isn't a doggy. Daddy told me that bitch meant dog, so why is he calling my mummy a dog? She doesn't have a tail and she isn't fury. "Oi, you. Bobby boy, get 'ere now!" I bolt to the back door like the flash, zoom I'm away, and I go to the shed where Mr Blanket is. Daddy is following me to the shed, then he opens it and picks me up by my collar and throws me in. It really really hurt. I can't breathe. I land on a hard box and hurt my back. Ouch!
"Stay in there!" Daddy locks the shed and I am cold. Mr Blanket warms me up and Spidey Spid speaks to me from his warm warm warm lacy web up in the corner.
