"Are you worried?" she brushed her messy golden hair gently.
"I'm not sure, I'm having mixed emotions lately." he sighed, taking a sip of the coffee he was drinking.
"Its normal, this is your first mission. I still remember mine back when.."
"Pardon me," he interrupted, "But I need to go now. The mission debriefing starts early in the morning." he said, worried about the time he had left.
"Well, at least give your sister a goodbye hug." she smiled sadly.
He immediately grabbed her and hugged her tightly. She laid her head on his chest and whispered softly, "Be careful Allen, there are many dangers that await you."
"I know, I promise I will come back." he replied, patting her back gently.
He let her go and stood in front of her. Tears started forming on her eyes, she was going to miss her little brother badly.
She nodded and said, "Its time for you to go." battling the tears inside of her. He nodded back and opened the door, bringing the things he needed for his journey.
"Just remember Allen, our desire to protect is what makes us knights strong." she said, clenching her fist and placing it on her chest.
"I will." he replied, closing the door gently.
He was going to set foot on his first journey. Every step he took made him nervous and anxious. He was curious about his mission and he wondered what he was going to do. There was a long way ahead of him before he could reach Raymoore City.
After a long sleepless night he reached his destination early in the morning. The City's streets were already blooming with people. Most of them stared at him coldly since he was a knight. Raymoore was a city of hunters. It was normal for them to treat him like that since he didn't belong there. He didn't mind at all since he knew he was going to be treated like this. Along the way there were tall houses that stood but all of them seemed small because of the huge building that stood in the center. That building is where he was going to get debriefing for his first mission. Seeing this gave him chills running down his spine. He walked to the direction of the building and saw a huge space in front of the building. He got a clearer view of it and saw the beautiful flowers that decorated the building. He entered it and was shocked of what he saw.
The building was horribly trashed on the inside. There were many injured people that were being brought to the hospital. He was very curious and asked the woman sitting on a desk near the entrance.
"What happened here?" he asked the woman.
"Assassins. They came and trashed the building then escaped nowhere to be found."
she replied, arranging the piles of paper on her desk.
"I thought we lived peacefully with the assassins." he never understood why the assassins would do such a thing.
"We used to until the King and the Queen passed away." her lips formed a straight line. It was clear that she also didn't want this to happen too.
"Pardon me, but are you new here?" she added while tilting her glasses in place.
"Oh yes, I'm a knight. I came here for my mission." he replied. All this madness made him forget about his mission and why he came here for.
"Are you Allen Campbell?" she frowned when she read his name. He knew why but he pretended he didn't see her frowning.
"Yes." he answered softly. She reached for something in her drawer and handed it to him.
Then her lips formed a straight line, "Take this and go inside the room." she handed him a folder sealed by the Hunters' Crest and pointed towards the plain door not far from her office.
He nodded and took the folder. He headed straight towards the door and knocked a few times before entering it. The room was quite small, almost everything inside was in disarray. It was the opposite of the neat office the lady had.
"Please wait!" he heard a voice coming inside the another door in the room. After a few seconds, a man with brown curly hair emerged from the room.
"I'm sorry I took so long, the whole building seems to be in disorder since the attack earlier." he sighed. He tried to fix his bad hair and took the folder from him.
"So are you Sir Allen Campbell?." he asked and cocked an eyebrow.
"Yes." his lips formed a straight line when he uttered his last name.
"Don't worry, I don't judge people by what family they were born into." he assured, lifting some of the gloominess away from Allen. He then opened the folder and scanned the paper it contained. "About this mission, its quite special." he paused for a second. "You'll be protecting a heiress of one of the noble families of the Hunters, but she's not just an ordinary heiress." he paused a again, "Let me remind you that this a top secret mission wherein you should tell anyone about this."
He then nodded as a reply.
"She is the daughter of the Late King of the Knights and Queen of the Assassins. She is the rightful heiress to the throne of both the Knights and the Assassins."
He gasped and his eyes widened.
