Lydia was lying on the bed helping Allison out with her Calculus homework while debating internally whether to tell her best friend about the kiss or not.

She still couldn't quite believe that she had kissed Stiles. And more importantly, liked it too. Alot.
It hadn't been much of a kiss, not like the ones that she was used to from Jackson or Aiden or any other guy.
It hadn't lasted long either since she had kissed him to stop his panic attack, hoping that her idea would work and he had been too shocked to even kiss her back properly.

But there were a few moments before it ended where he had kissed her back and that had been...

Before she could finish that trail of thought, she felt Allison's tap on her shoulder.

“Lydia, I've called out your name quite a few times now. You seemed lost. Is there anything that you need to talk about?”, Allison asked her, looking concerned.

“I...Nope,nothing at all. I was just thinking about stuff, you know. Nothing important.”,Lydia replied as casually as possible.

It didn't work.

“I've known you long enough to know when you're lying,Lydia. Just tell me, both of us know that you will eventually,so why not now?”

“I kissed Stiles.”

There. She said it. It was out in the open and wasn't a big deal at all.

She didn't know who she was trying to convince.

Allison looked shocked. So shocked that she was speechless for a few moments.

“Wow. I did not see that coming. How long ago did this happen?”

“Not that long ago. It was when your dad got kidnapped by Ms.Blake. Stiles got a text from Isaac about it and he started having a panic attack, because of everything falling apart.I managed to drag him to the locker room and calm him down. It didn't work. Finally, I remembered reading somewhere that holding your breath stops a panic attack. So, I kissed him and it stopped.”

Lydia's heart warmed every time when she thought of why her idea had worked.
Allison figured it out too.

“He held his breath?” Allison asked her knowingly, with a smile.

“Yeah, he did.” Lydia replied quietly, without any hint of her usual confidence or sass.

“That is so sweet. He really loves you, you know. And he is definitely better than all the other guys that you've dated.”

“I know. We've become good friends recently. He is smart, caring and a more than a little hyperactive. But I've never thought of him that way, until..”

“The kiss?” Allison prompted. “Did you like it?”

Lydia didn't say anything for a moment. She didn't know if she wanted to. But this was Allison, if there anyone who would understand her, without ever judging her, it was her best friend.

“I did. More than I'd like to admit. He was too shocked to kiss me back at first, but when he did, it felt right. Like things had fallen into place.”

With Jackson, though she had loved him, she had always held herself back a little every time they kissed, because she had been scared of being rejected.
But with Stiles, she hadn't done that because in that moment, she had known that she had nothing to be scared of, despite of the world falling apart around them.

“ Lydia, I've always felt that you need to give him a chance. At first it was Jackson stopping you, then Aiden and now there is nothing to hold you back.”

“ I don't know. I don't think I'm ready for a serious relationship yet. And with Stiles, it would be serious. I'm not sure if I want that. That I want him”

Liar. She knew the last part wasn't true at all, but she refused that acknowledge it.

“You won't know until you've tried.” Allison replied gently.
“It is your choice,of course. Did you talk to him about this?”

“Talk to a guy about a kiss? No way. Honey, I don't even do relationship talks, so this talk is one that will never happen. I'm just going to pretend that it didn't happen.”
Atleast to the world,Lydia thought to herself.

“I hope he'll do the same. Because that's all that it was. A really unexpected good kiss.”

Allison looked like she wanted to say something to try and change Lydia's mind. But she saw the stubbornness in her best friend's face and decided to hold her peace for the present.

“As you wish. But just one thing, if you had just wanted to stop his panic attack, I'm sure there could've been other solutions. You chose to go with this one.”, Allison said with an innocent smile.

Lydia had no reply to that because she knew Allison was right.

“Let's just get back to the Calculus homework and maybe we could put some of your deduction skills to work here. For productive purposes.”,Lydia said evasively, hoping that Allison would take the hint and drop the topic.

That just turned Allison's smile into a grin, but she dropped the topic.

But Allison knew that the kiss had meant more to Lydia more than she cared to show. But she also knew that pushing her to admit that wouldn't do any good. She couldn't help wondering what Stiles thought about it. Though knowing him, he was probably overjoyed but wouldn't ever bring it up unless Lydia chose to.
She decided that she would talk to Scott later and ask him if Stiles had told him anything about this.
They needed to do something about this.

With that decided, she looked at Lydia and nodded.

“Homework it is, then!”
