It's a sunny, November afternoon. Every kid was in school and most parents were at work or at home watching over the younger kids. Natalie, a 15 year old girl, was moving into a new home with her mother and their many pets.
Her mother and father had gotten into many arguments and her mother had had enough and left with her daughter and pets. Natalie was glad to see her mother happy. She had never seen her smile until now. To Natalie it was like seeing color for the first time. She wanted to see her mother smile more so she supported her mother every step of the way and the two couldn't be happier, away from the man that held them back.
Originally they lived in Germany with their father, since his side is German, and were forced to live with him. They decided to get as far away and so they moved to a small, quite town in America. They knew they would have a better future there and the schools were better so Natalie had a brighter future. They immediately booked tickets and traveled for about 9 hours. When they landed a relative that lived there helped the family move in and to their luck, lived a block away.
When their stuff arrived at their house, the house was full of boxes and you would spot an animal wondering around. They paid the movers and got straight to work. They unboxed half of the boxes when they became hungry.

-Natalie pov-

I sat down on the couch to rest a bit when I heard my stomach rumble. "I'm starving... mom do you think there are any nearby restaurants?" I Yelled. My mom poked her head out from behind a door and thought for a minute. "I don't know. Go to uncle Noah's house and ask him if he can take you to a pizza place. Cheese for me." Mom handed me 25 dollars and I grabbed my hoodie. "Bye mom! Love you." I said walking out of the house.
The cool air bit at my nose as I walked to my uncles house. I passed by a group of friends and they seemed like a fun group to hang out with. That's when i saw her. Her long gorgeous brown locks. Her beautiful hazel eyes. And her smile. Her smile made my heart melt. My cheeks began to heat up and I watched as she walked with her friends. She did glance at me and I avoided eyes contact with her and walked faster. I felt my entire face heat up and picked up the pace.
I saw uncle Noah's house coming into view and saw two kids playing in the yard. I didn't pay much attention to them and knocked on his door. A woman opened the door and greeted me with a warm smile. "Hello my dear. What brings you to my place?" She cooed warmly. "Um, I'm here to see my uncle Noah. I had recently moved here with my mom and I need to ask him some thing." She gave me a questioning look before stepping back to let me in. I wiped my feet on the door mat and walked into the house. Instantly I was smacked across the face with a sweet chocolatey smell.
The woman led me down to the kitchen were I saw an old lady taking out cookies from the oven. "Wait here please. Noah is upstairs talking with our son about something. He'll be down as soon as possible." She said. I nodded my head and she left leaving me with the old lady.
She seemed to be in her late 60's for her hair was long and gray. Her tan skin was sagging and her face was wrinkled. She wore an adorable light pink dress with a white shawl and some cute pink bunny slippers. 'She seems like a cute lady to draw later.' I thought. I took my phone out and took a picture or two of her. 'Cute.' She seemed to notice me for she was walking my way. I got nervous and stood still as she circled me like a shark, circling its next victim. "You look just like Eva when she was your age. I remember when her and her brothers would run around and get into all sorts of trouble." She said quietly, smiling at the end.
A smile spread across my face as I recognized the name. "Eva... like my mom." I said quietly. The old lady cupped my face and she examined me closer. "Your eyes are just like hers, a beautiful purple, and your facial structure is so much like hers." She cooed pinching my cheek. "I like you granny. I'll be sure to swing by more often." I Said earning a small chuckle from her. "I'm glad to see you and your mother are back. Nicholas was no good for you two. He was never there for your mother when she need him." She said, her voice full or rage. "That's enough mother. Leave Natalie alone." Said uncle Noah walking in with a teenage boy following him. "It's nice to see you again Natalie." "Right back at you uncle Noah." I said giving him a hug. "I don't think I ever told you about my family here. The woman who welcomed you here was my wife, Natalia, and we have three sons. The eldest is Justin and the last two are twins named Jake and Jack. And this beautiful woman you have been talking to is your grandma, Linda." He said kissing the old lady on the forehead. "Oh stop it. I was more beautiful when I was younger." She said taking a seat on one of the chairs. "It is nice to meet you all but I just needed to know where the nearest pizza place is." I Said trying not to sound rude. "Justin please escort Natalie to dominos please." Said uncle Noah. I heard the boy groan and he left. "Should I worry about him?" I whispered to uncle Noah. "You'll be fine he just needs a person to look up. Hopefully you can put him on the right path." Said uncle Noah. "Are you coming or not?" Called the boy, Justin.
I said my goodbyes and left with Justin. We walked in complete silence and to be honest it was 100% awkward. I decided to take it upon myself and started a conversation. "So... hows it like living here in America?" I asked glancing at him. "Sucks. The school system is all messed up and not to mention the people here are complete idiots." He said in a gloomy voice. I let out a small 'oh' and we continued the walk. "Anyways, hows it going with you and aunt Eva?" He asked kicking a rock. "It could be better. We still have a lot of unpacking to do and I have to enroll to school tomorrow." I said. "Good luck with that. Like a mentioned before, school system here sucks. Like why the heck do we have to do 10 steps just to find an answer? Aren't we supposed to learn how to make it easier?" Ranted Justin. I let out a small giggle and continued to listen to him rant about school.
We reached a small building with a sign reading "Domino's". We walked in and I saw some familiar faces in the line next to ours. My face heated up and I looked away. "Next" I looked up infringe of me and went up to order. "Hi welcome to Dominos. What would you be having today?" Asked the cashier in a monotone voice. "Um, can I get a cheese pizza and two drinks." I Said. The clerk punched in some numbers and told me my total "that'll be 16.34$." I grabbed the money mom gave me and gave her the 20. They snatched it from my hand and the cash register opened. She handed me 4.66$ and I gave them a questioning look. "Problem?" "Um, yes actually. You gave me a dollar too much." I Said handing back a dollar. The cashier gave me a look and grabbed the dollar. She handed me my reseat and told me to wait 5 minutes and to grabbed the drinks out of the cooler. I awkwardly walked away and made my way to the cooler. I grabbed a root beer for me and a coke for my mom.
I sat down in one of the booths with Justin and we talked about random topics until we were interrupted. "Um, hey I like your hair." I heard someone say. I turned my head and saw a little girl with pigtails and a cute pink dress. I flashed her a smile and thanked her. "Thank you. I like your dress. It's suits you very well." I Said. The little girl giggled and ran back to her parents. I smiled and looked back at Justin who watched the entire thing. "You seem like a very popular person." He said taking a sip of his drink. I rolled my eyes and heard them call for me. I got up and went to get my pizza and we both left. "So we're was I on my school rant?" Asked Justin, bringing his hand up to his chin. "Forget about that. Tell me about the students." I Said. "Well at school we're all separated into different social groups. Me and my friends are Known as geeks but there are way too many groups. The more common ones are the jocks, preps, nerds, geeks, gamers, band geeks, and a crap ton of others. Although a new group appeared at our school known as the "Rainbows" and everyone is dying to know who they are." Explained Justin. "Hm, American school is a lot different from German school. The students there are pretty mean and it's rare to find anyone nice. Plus we have to wear uniforms which I heard we don't have to wear." I Said happily.
We reached uncle Noah's house and we said our goodbyes before I continued on my way home. I passed by many new people and that's when I saw them again. 'Why do we keep bumping into each other?!?' A girl with dark skin help two boxes of pizza while two similar looking boys carried boxes of soda. The girl from before help bags of chips and as we passed each other she flashed me a smile. My face heated once again and picked up the pace.
When the house came into view I ran up the steps and knocked on the door. My mom answered the door and let me in. I set the pizza on the kitchen counter and opened the box. I grabbed a slice and began to eat it before my mom grabbed a slice as well. "So how was your trip?" She asked with a mouthful of pizza. "It... was interesting..." I said taking a sip of my drink. "How come? Oh wait, let me guess. Justin took you?" I gave my mom a nod and she laughed. "Justin is a very sweet kid but he's just very awkward and acts a bit angsty at times." Said mom.
We are the rest of the pizza before getting back to work. I carried my boxes into my room and noticed it was bigger than my old one. 'Upgrade!' I put everything in its rightful place and hung up all my pictures. I opened up a box and found many of my stuffed animals in it. 'I wonder...' I walked out of my room and looked around eventually finding what I was looking for. I looked up and found a string attached to a door leading to the attic. I pulled it and down came a pair of stairs. I carefully made my way up and looked around. It was big enough for me to stand up straight with a foot between me and the ceiling. I looked around and the place was small but not too small. Their was dust and cobwebs everywhere and it smelled weird. 'Some cleaning and I can turn this into my relaxing room.' I planned out the entire room and went back downstairs to fetch the cleaning supplies.

I'm gonna love living here
