He was shocked, he never expected he was going to be assigned to this mission of great importance.

"She symbolizes the peace among the knights and the assassins. Unfortunately, some assassins do not want the idea of this and that is why she in grave danger." he said sadly.

"Wait, I have a lot of questions in mind." he interrupted.

"Go on." he replied calmly and laid his back on his chair.

"Firstly, why choose me? I bet there are hundreds of knights far suited than me for this mission. Secondly, how did the princess end up in a noble family of the hunters?" he demanded.

"Interesting question, but you'll figure out soon enough. For your second question, that family she was taken in was close friends with the King and Queen. They gladly accepted them since they knew she was in grave danger." he countered, "Any more questions?" he added.

"Yes, how come the Assassins knew that she was the princess?" he asked curiously.

"Sadly, someone leaked the information about her to the assassins. We are still finding out who the culprit is, but no need to worry just focus on your mission." his lips formed a straight line.

"Alright so what else do I need to do?" Allen asked him.

"You need to go in the same academy with her which is the Hunters' Academy. For that you need to pretend to be a hunter and protect her while she is attending school. She already has bodyguards in her house so you only need to watch over her in school."

"Why can't the bodyguards come with her?"

"She demanded her parents to not let bodyguards come with her to the academy that's why you shouldn't let her know you're a guard too." he replied.

"I have one last question. When do I start?"

"Tomorrow, we've already enrolled you to the academy and we have prepared all the things needed."

"Alright, I think I should be going now." he figured since it was almost lunch time.

"Oh yes, and take the envelope, it has more details about her." he slipped the paper back into the envelope and handed it over to him. "And one last thing, we'll be changing your name to Lawrence Hardwing."

He took it and left the room while taking a peek inside the envelope. He noticed a small note inside the envelope and read it.

"Chestnut Inn, I guess this the place where I'll be staying." he read the writings written on the note, at the bottom of it was a map of where the Inn is located.

He headed straight towards a building that was indicated  on the map. Inside he was greeted by a middle-aged man by the counter. "Can I help you Sir?" he asked with a wispy voice.

"Is there a room reserved for Al...I mean Lawrence Hardwing?" he bit his lip. He supposedly forgot about his new name and he was relieved that the man didn't notice him stammering.

"Oh yes, here's your key Sir." The man reached for the key and handed it to him.

"Thank you." he darted straight towards his room, looking past the man. After a few steps he finally arrived at his room's doorstep and unlocked the room with his key.

'My name is Lawrence Witherthorn and I am a hunter.' he repeated that phrase in his head over and over again.

He sighed as he entered his room and laid down on the big white bed. He felt his eyelids getting heavier and he closed it. Before he realized he fell into a deep slumber.

'He felt someone laying on his chest, holding his hand tightly. He saw her long red hair shine under the moonlight.

"I think..I love you"'

He immediately woke up and fell on the ground. He tried to nurse his head as stood up slowly from the ground. He gazed at his room until he saw a clock near the closet.

"Oh crap, I overslept!"
