After talking to herself about how much she was against this marriage, Mrs. Sage huffed and sat down into her seat. She sent her husband one last death glare before turning to her son with teary eyes.
"I am very disappointed in you," she said to him as a tear dropped down her face. Daniel pouted and walked over to his mother. He sat on the ground at her feet and rested his head on her knees.
"Can't you just accept it this one time?" he asked her as he looked up at her through his lashes. Her face automatically softened but she still stubbornly turned her head away from them.
"We have been submitting to all of your wishes," she snapped. "How could you back stab us like this?"
"You're acting like I have committed some sort of crime," he softly whined. "All I did was get married."
She scoffed and turned to the twins, "Tell your brother I do not wish to speak to him any longer."
"Ma, are you really going to be like this?"
Mrs. Sage sniffed before abruptly standing up and leaving the room. Daniel stood to follow his mother but his father stopped him.
"Leave her to me," he said as he followed his wife after sending his son a soft smile.
Daniel sighed before plopping himself beside me.
"So," twin with the lighter hair began, "what was your name again?"
"Izzy."
"Is that short for something or did your parents really hate you that much?"
"Hope!" twin with the darker hair scolded, "she doesn't have parents!"
After realising that her words could be very offensive she turned to me with wide and guilty eyes.
"Wait, I didn't mean it that wa–"
"It's alright," I laughed. "My name is Isabella. Izzy is a nickname."
"Cool," twin with the darker hair said. "I'm Faith and this is Hope. Although we look identical, we have different hair colours so you should be able to distinguish us."
"Just always remember that Hope is the prettier twin and you should be fine," twin with the lighter hair (Hope) said, earning a soft punch from twin with the darker hair (Faith).
A moment of silence went by between us before the two girls started becoming nosy. They did look to be at an age where they wanted to know everything.
"So tell us," Hope began as she jumped to sit beside me, "how did you two meet?"
"At a party," Daniel sighed as he leaned his head back and stared up at the ceiling. Faith sat beside him and turned her whole body so she was facing all of us.
"Sounds boring," Faith huffed, looking disappointed. "I was expecting some unique love story."
Hope rolled her eyes before continuing interrogation, "How long have you known each other?"
Daniel rolled his head forward so that he was now facing his sisters.
"Why are you being so nosy?"
"We just want to know. I mean, we thought you would never get married after what happened with Julie."
Daniel's face automatically hardened at her words and the two girls looked at each other before turning back to their brother with an apologetic look.
