Stupid Heart, Brave Mind
- angst
- dramaHe sat there, staring intently at her as she made fierce eye contact with him with the same cold and soulless eyes, "What do you want?" She asks with no sign of weakness in her voice.
"You." He answered with heaviness in his heart, "I want you." The stormy night seemed to blend in with the obvious tension in the room as they both sat opposing to each other on the long, glass table.
"I beg your pardon?" She raises an astonished eyebrow at his boldness.
He licks his lips, unsure about his words, "I want to get back with you." His eyes gazed everywhere but her striking hazel brown orbs, "Not just want... Need. You've... You've been in my mind for months and I just need you to feel the same way I feel."
She scoffs as she bit her lip - processing the next deadly words she's going to mutter, "Me? You need me? God, and where were you when I asked the same thing to you a few months ago?" She spat with disgust.
"Where were you when I begged and cried for you to take me back? When I told you that I needed you - where the fuck were you??" She laughs bitterly as she bit her lip one more time, "How ironic is the fact that we switched places now? Let me ask you - did you do anything at all when I kept on telling you that I was still in love with you? God, it has been a year and now you regret everything??"
With guilt and depression, he looked down to his lap, not sure of what to say. For she is right. She has always been there for him and he? He left her for her own best friend. But now he realized his mistakes and he's willing to restart everything. To go back to phase one. "I just need a second chance..." He whispers softly.
And with a brutal smile, she smirks, "Second chance?? Do you think that after all the shit you made me go through, you out of all the people in the world deserve a second chance?" Thunder and lighting crashed wildly, mimicking her feelings inside. She didn't know what to feel - despise, disgust, anger, betrayal or hurt. But what she did know is that her feelings towards him that she has been working hard to forget all came back.
It always does.
Her heart was just stupid like that. With just a simple longing look from him, she falls yet again. And she knows very well she should stop, but how could she?
"I've moved on long before we broke up."
"You're the problem."
"I'm starting to have feelings for her."
"Why would I? I hate you."
"You're full of talk."
All those brutal and unapologetic words he spat out meant nothing to her. For she still cared deeply for the asshole.
"I'm asking you for a favor. Stop fucking with my feelings. I'm tired and I don't want to keep on playing your game of "Waiting For The Ex". Can't you see? I'm struggling enough. How far do you think you can go?" She strikes with anger as she walked out of the room. Leaving him alone and abandoned as he wipes the tears away from his face.
