lucas romano percival santoro: a product of the love between an italian woman and a cuban man. like most things in life that wither away, never to begin anew, the attachment between the two individuals began to shrivel and turn cold until one day, it perished. wanting to start their lives over free of any remembrance of each other, they decided to put their baby boy up for adoption. four years later an american couple, saddened that they could not conceive on their own, made the choice of wanting to adopt a child. they both had respectable careers that gave them many benefits to be able to provide more than enough to a child. after months of searching for the right agency, followed by numerous background checks, assessments, and countless legal documents, they were ready to find their soon-to-be child. day after day they encountered one child after the other until they met lucas, and they knew he was the one for them.
lucas' childhood was more than what he could have hoped for. aside from the fun-packed vacations they went on at least once a year, the cool birthday parties with his loyal friends, and the spontaneous check-outs from school, lucas was satisfied with just having parents who loved him dearly and they always reminded him of it too.
as the years went on, his interests and skills began to blossom. he enjoyed helping cook family dinners, often cooking them on his own and took pride in his finished product. after learning how to play piano, he decided he wanted to learn a new instrument and ended up playing the trumpet in his high school band all four years. along with being in band, lucas was also a member of the track team, quizbowl, and student government.
lucas does not take pride in all his achievements. he's seen what happens to people who let their ego get the best of them.
he takes his time getting to know others, to figure out who they really are rather than what they try to be. and although he has charming looks, he isn't one to use his features for his own pleasure. lucas finds enjoyment in going to events that most people would find dull, but he's not foreign to taking part in more youthful activities. he's always open to trying new things to expand his interests. you will sometimes see him opt to wear glasses when he doesn't feel like wearing his contacts, making other people assume that he's smart without them even knowing him. one thing to keep in mind about lucas is that you shouldn't mistake his kindness for weakness.
