Yoongi sat in front of his piano, fingers searching for melodies from within the ivory keys. He had written one down when he first started playing, and 2 hours later, he was still working with it. Beginning at the top of the page, his eyes scanned the piece and his hands gave the notes life. It was a song in a major key, and he smiled as he played it. It sounded wonderful.
Only seconds later, there were no more notes on the page, so he began to freestyle. At first, it was beautiful, and it would have been a great addition to the music. Unfortunately, Yoongi didn't get very far; one of his fingers pressed a wrong key, and he immediately stopped playing. His hands balled up into fists and his knuckles turned white. He hit the piano, angrily playing a song of nonsense.

"I need some fresh air," he mumbled.

Yoongi sighed and stood up from the piano before carefully putting the sheets of music in a folder. He picked out a windbreaker from his closet and put in on before grabbing his keys, wallet, and phone and putting the items in his pockets.
He stepped off of the porch of his house and looked out into the street. It was raining, and though it changed the feel of the famailiar surroundings, it did not change the appearance. It was still black and white. It was always black and white. Nothing ever changed. The world seemed as bland today as it was when he first opened his eyes.
Yoongi hadn't found someone to love yet; he was without a soulmate. His mother told him when he was younger that when he grew up, he would meet somene that he would fall in love with, and his world would become colorful. That's what she said happened when she met yoongi's dad, anyways. He hoped that colors were as magnificent as his mother said they'd be.
But he hadn't found anyone yet, and he didn't believe it would happen anytime soon. He didn't have too many friends, but his best friend Namjoon recently met his soulmate. Yoongi went to go visit namjoon last week to meet the special someone. His name is Jin, and when Yoongi met him, he was intimiated because he was much shorter then this new friend, but he was very kind. He also discovered that Jin was a great cook and a talented singer. He "shipped" them together, because that's what all the cool kids say.
Yoongi smiled to himself at the thought of his best friend's happiness, but for some reason, he still didn't believe he would ever his find his own. He walked down the road with no particular destination in mind, but as he walked, he took out his phone and snapped a few photos here and there if something looked nice. Even if his world was in black and white, he still found some things beautiful.
Eventually, Yoongi reached town, and he decided to get some coffee from his favorite cafe. He walked in, ringing the bell on the glass door to signal his entrance.

"Yoongi! I haven't seen you in a while!"

Yoongi turned to see Hoseok, the barista who worked there almost every time he popped in. It was strange how he was always there. Hoseok was a very extroverted and bright person, always laughing and showing customers a wide smile when he handed them their drink.

"Hoseok, how is it that you are always here when stop by?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe it's luck, or maybe it's meant to be." Hoseok winked and smiled.

"I don't know about either of those options. The usual, please and thank you," Yoongi chuckled and handed hoseok the right amount of money for his drink.

"Okie dokie! Coming right up."

Yoongi sat down at his favorite table in the corner by the front window. It seemed like nobody ever sat at that table: there were never any crumbs and the chairs were always pushed in and perfectly placed. He gave a contented sigh and looked outside, watching the rain fall and form puddles in the uneven spots in the concrete.
Yoongi liked the rain a lot. He liked the way it felt on his skin and how it made the world different for a while. He wondered if it will be a different color after he meets his soulmate, if he ever finds them.
