Chapter 2

*about 1 hour later*

I woke up in my bedchamber, feeling drained, I knew that one of the servents carried me here after I passed out, Diva would never care for me like a mother should anyway. I slowly get up only to fall back down again on my bed, 'I guess the blood loss is still to much for my body' I thought to myself. Putting more effort in getting up, I went to my wardrobe in search of a dress to wear. 'I don't want to drink from the servants, new blood is good to strengthen the family,' (The person who becomes apart of the family must be some one who won't be missed, like a homeless person, orphan, sometimes even a prostitue.) Rumaging through the wardrobe, I found a civilian-like dress that should be appropriate to find the new blood. Putting the dress on and combing through my mid-shoulder hair, I found shoes that looked to be a civilian womans of the midle class. 'I could pass for a human' well, maybe for a day or so.

Satisfied with my outfit, I walked to the window in my bedchamber, the view over looking a modern city, with farm land in the distance. 'Better get going, soon the patrol might start making rounds, or better yet they could have a cerfew.' Times where not good right now in the world. War was right around the corner, and  the church was going all out in "purifying" small towns with "witches" and the like. But that was mostly in the Americas, this was Spain, where in the last town they lived in, had a cerfew and a church that tried to kill anyone who enterd the town without cause.

Going out of the bedchamber, I made my way to the ground floor where I could go outside to the barn, where the horses are kept and tended. My horse was a beautiful coal color with ray and white splotches here and there on her rump and legs. Her name was like her coloring, "Maculis" meaning "spot" I loved her name, I named her when I first got her and she was just a tiny foal, with her spots covering her body at the time. We both grew together, well, emotionaly anyway, I was turned for 100 years to the day when I got Maculis, her being a gift from a companion of mine. Maculis has been with me for over 7 years, She is getting older now, I might have to get her to have a faol and keep her for lesiure walks in another year or so. As I neared the fence to where she was kept, Maculis lifter her head and walked over to me prodding my figure with her nose in search of a sugar bit or carrot. "Hey there Maculis. How've you been sweets?" I mumbled to her. Rubbing her nose with my right hand I pulled the hidden sugar bits from my pocket with my left. Happily, Maculis started to try to get my hand and bits in all one bite. Motioning to one of the caretakers, he brought me the saddle and reins for Maculis. Hoping over the fence, I saddled up Maculis, and lead her out of the barn area. Climbing on, we started our journey to the town. Stopping here and there for a little break, we made it into town around as the sun was setting.
