As most of us should be able to relate, school is one of the main priorities and focuses on youth. It always has been and by the looks of it, education is still pretty "in". See, with all of the different people that attend, there are also many ways of learning.
Since you guys are reading this totally superbly incredibly amazing blog, you might be interested in my opinions/experiences. So be sure to read along and enjoy!
Learning for me, is something that I partake in every day and it is that way for most others, as well. In my case learning is an ongoing thing, it never stops. I come to school most days, to learn, I go to work and learn, go to the gym and learn, we are constantly learning wherever we go. In school specifically, my learning is troubled. It might not seem like it, but it is. Being a very socialized person in grade nine is not a very good thing for me because a lot of times I find myself doing things other than working on the projects I should be working on.
Always worrying about the things that don't have to do with school, whilst being at school and worrying about my schooling whilst i'm at work, or at home. It is a flip flop case. Throughout the semester, I made progress in different areas, but not all. Every single teacher and student that I go to for help is very great and really helpful, but my mind is always on something else. Always. Somehow I am passing but maybe Applied would be better. When I am trying to work on something my mind drifts off, and the kids that surround me are a pain in the ass. Most classes there is too much talking and socializing to learn. Bringing cell phones into the class was a terrible decision, but it is what it is. It's not like high school anymore, it's more like high-socialize and learn sometimes.
Maybe this is just my case, but throughout the year, these are the things that I see and the progress that is being made. More kids are being pushed further and further from the education they need and will be proud of in the future. Honestly I feel more bad for the teachers then the students. As the teachers are always trying so damn hard to be a positive influence on the students and help them be educated, but all of the distractions in our day 'n age, kids frankly aren't letting them.
Throughout this semester, I have come to learn far more of the social aspects of our generation by seeing how students interact with their education and opportunities. I have been late almost every day, and missed many of my English classes, but, am I the only one? I'm sure i'm not.
I hope that if you are a reader of this blog, that you stand out, be different, and don't be afraid to speak the truth. Also if you have any prior knowledge in your brain, pick up a book not a phone. Put the distractions down and get the education that was once deserved by our youth. Never ever give up on your dreams! Also, to those of you who are already on a good track, keep it up, but know how to have a little fun, school is a third of your life. Don't make is stressful for yourself.
