Recap:

"Wait. You lived in Russia?" I asked.

"I did. My whole clan did." she said. Oh lord! She was even in a clan! I knew they still existed bit there were so few of them. Most of them have changed into families or can't cooperate with being in one and changed into nomad.

"Well, why don't I show you to your room." said Lilly after an awkward silence.

"Wait, do you really think Zack will allow me to stay under his roof?" she asked. Well, she had a point. We'd just have to convince him.

"We can convince him." I said confidently.

She was staying here no matter what. We could use some excitement.

Chapter 6:

Damon-

"She is not staying here!" yelled Zack. Anne was out of the house, she said she went hunting. 2 minutes later Zack come home, all huffy. We tell him about Anne staying here, and that's when the you-know-what hits the fan.

"But-" says Lilly.

"She is a demon of the worst kind!" yelled Zack.

"I-"

"I will not have that demon under my roof." yelled Zach.

He's been at this for 10 minutes.

He better be careful. Lilly's getting angry. She doesn't her angry often but when she does, you do not want to mess with her.

"HEY! LET. ME. TALK!" bellowed Lilly. Zack looked at her in surprise, then fear. He must have realized he'd pushed Lilly too far. She wasn't just angry, she was furious.

I do not want to be in the middle of this.

I started to back away slowly, hoping to be able to slip out without her noticing-

"Damon Ashton, don't you dare take another step!" she yelled. What'd I do?! I agreed with her! I liked Anne!

"Now, both of boys listen to me, and listen good, because I will NOT repeat myself." she warned. I could tell she was trying to keep a leash on her monster of a temper. And right now, that monster was thirsting for our blood. If Zach knew what was good for him, he would shut up and agree with whatever she says. Or someone will probably end up dead.

"She is not a 'demon' as you so kindly put it. I talked to her and she is nothing like you described. But that's a topic for another day. I don't care if you hate her with every fiber in your being, as long as you keep it to yourself and most importantly: You will NOT, and I repeat, NOT hurt her in any way, shape or form. If you do, I will cause double the pain onto your worthless hide and you will find a new home. Same goes for you, Damon. Anne is a very nice girl, and has nowhere to live. I am not going to let her sleep in a tree. She is staying here and that is FINAL. Understood?" she said, glaring daggers at both of us. I don't know why me, I havn't even said an unkind word about her, much less hurt her. Either way, we both nodded our heads vigorously. We knew the consequences of deifying her. I could see she really liked this girl, and would take personal offense in any unkind word or action toward her.

Unfortunately, Zack didn't seem to notice that. Because the next thing he said was probably the worst thing he could have said to her, short of outright threatening to hurt Anne.

"Fine, she can stay here, and we won't hurt her, BUT we still think she's a-" he hissed. I could tell he was about to continue but I realized an important detail in that statement.

"Wait a minute, what do you mean WE? There was no WE in this opinion. Only YOU. Leave me out of this, I agree with Lilly." I said, raising my hands in a peaceful gesture.

"Ok, I still think she is a horrible person who deserves to live in a tree, and it disgusts me that you both could support that wench!" he hissed. There was a moment of stunned silence. Jesus, what's gotten into him? He's never been like this before.

"Well, it was nice knowing you, man." I muttered, knowing he wouldn't be alive much longer. Not after that. But she simply turned around...

.. and left.

Huh, strange. Maybe I misjudged how much she liked Anne.

We shared a glance and shrugged in unison. All we could do is wait, and see what's going on.

Anne-

"The nerve of that man!! I know he has some unkind feelings toward you but that was just unnecessary! That was a side of him I never knew existed!" She said. After telling me about what he said, she'd been ranting and raving about him for ten minutes.

"Ok, you need to calm down before you have a heart attack. Now, breathe in...and out..in..and out." I said. She gave me a withering glare.

"Ha ha, very funny" she muttered.

"Oh, i wasn't kidding. If you kept going, you would have given yourself a heart attack, or ripped someone else's heart out." i said with mock seriousness. We both burst out laughing. After a few minutes of hysterical laughing i realized something.

"Wait, are you going to let him get away with saying all that?" i asked. I didn't really care but with the way she was yelling earlier, I didn't think Zack would get away unscathed.

"Of course not! No one says all that about my new best friend and gets away with it." she said.

"Ok, so what's the plan?" i asked.

We walked back into the house. I saw Damon and Zack heading towards us. I quickly confirmed the plan with Lilly.

'Are you sure this is going to work? I don't see how ignoring him's going to work.' I thought to her.

'Trust me, it'll work. Men's egos thrive on attention.' she said. I hope this works. Zack walked toward Lilly.

"Hey Lilly, where you been?" he asked, leaning down to give her a kiss. She twisted away before he could.

"Did you hear something, Anne?" asked Lilly.

I smirked. "Nope, must have been the wind."
