The cave was empty.
--------------- Recap ---------------
I sat where I landed, confusion, hurt, and mistrust all mixed up into one, very confusing ball.
I took a few hesitant steps then there was a eerie laughter that came from inside the cave.
I stopped. "Batman? Robin? Anybody?" There was the sound of scratching a shrill scream. The hairs on my arm and neck stood up.
I started to shake. "W-who's there?" My voice wavered against my will and a figure stepped out of the shadows. Four figures, misshapend, and crawling were around him. They all were different Robin costumes, and their faces were practically carved into permit smiles.
I looked at his face and I stumbled back. There was a helmet with horns around the brim and two, unmistakable, batman like ears to the sides.
That wasn't even the worst part, his face to, was carved, but slightly more gruesome as the blood was dried, and his teeth were sharp.
"The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout. . ."
The robins jerked against the chains and the shriek of metal on rock filled the air.
"Down came the rain. . ."
He dropped one of the chains and one of the Robins charged at me.
"And watched the spider out."
Teeth gripped around my leg and I screamed. The world around me, disappearing at once.
---------- Beep Beep I'm a skip ----------
I gasped and immediately retreated it as my back arched, and choughs racked my body as I tried to dispel the water from my lungs.
When ny vision cleared, I saw the gymnasts hair disheveled. "What, the hell happened?!? Were you TRYING to kill yourself??"
His question shocked be and I sat up, my leg ached like something mauled it. "What do you mean, I was just swimming." I realized my mask was off, and sighed lightly. If he kept it on, I probably would've suffocated.
"No, you were in there, passed out, how did you even get there? I had to swim down there with the Iron Bat suit to not get crushed. And trust me, it's heavy."
I winced as I pulled back my right pant leg. There were teeth mark scars wide enough to be a teens bite. 'Where did I get that.'
The memories flashed behind my eyes and I groaned, whimpering lightly, holding my head. "Woah are you okay? You showld lay back down, what's your name anyways."
"Peter Parker." I said without hesitation, why I said it so easily confused me. "T-there was a man... I-in the cave he looked like Batman and-." I looked around, "and there were these kids, one bit me." I gestured to my leg.
He blinked, then shook his head. "You need to rest, you did almost die for a second."
"What? You don't belive me?" I stood up, bit a white blinding pain went through my right leg. I would've hit the gound again if he didn't catch me. "Ouch... What the hell."
"Yeah, okay, nope." He picked me up, and I immediately tried to get away. "I mean unless you want to aggravate whatever is going on with your leg, go right ahead. But you should sleep. You need your strength for later."
I nodded, just realizing how tired I actually was. 'When was the last time I slept? Three? Four days ago?' I thought as I slowly let sleep take over.
That's when the real nightmare started to begin.
Dick's POV
I sat Peter's body onto the medical bed next to the one Jason was asleep on. "So, anything on the kid?"
Bruce's voice was sudden and unexpected, but I was use to it. I turned to see that his cowl was off. "His name is Peter Parker. And he said that there was a Batman figure with Robin's that bite in the cave or something." I laughed and shook my head. "Bunch of bull sh-"
Bruce interrupted me. "Language Dick, do you know what Alfred would do if you said that."
"Geez dad never saw you as a hippocrite." He rolled his eyes. "Anyways, he was down in the lake and I went down there. His heart jumped, and I have no clue on how long he was down there."
He nodded. "So explain why you were carrying him." He said it so nonchalant.
"He couldn't stand, or put weight on his right leg so I carried him."
"Okay, thanks Dick, I think Alfred finished dinner, I'll be up there in a second.
I nodded and left.
------ hey look another timeskip ------
Jason's POV
I came two slowly, a soft material keeping my head elevated slightly. Not really remembering what happened, I sat up.
Only to be struck by a massive wave of pain. I groaned and held my diaphragm, closing my eyes tightly, struggling against the waves of pain, that made me want to yell out.
I panted and slowly opened my eyes, the world brighter than what I would've liked.
After my eyes adjusted, I decided to look around. There was the boy, his mask was off, his soft brown hair spilled across his face, shining in the light. His eye brows scrunched together and he let out a soft whimper.
I watched him confused for a few, seconds then sighed to myself, getting up. 'Thank you.' I said quietly.
I started to walk out but groaned and almost fell to the ground. My midsection was killing me slowly. Something caught me gently. "Uh- thanks." It was the boy. "So you saved my live?"
He nodded, words seem to fail him for a second and he cleared his throat. "Yeah. I guess I did." He shook his head. "I should've tried to get there sooner... I might've been able to stop him from stabbing you but-" he stopped as I put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's fine, look at me-" he met my eyes, and I narrowed them "I am breathing and alive, because you saved me. So don't worry so much. You did good."
He nodded. "Yeah. So... how old are you anyways?"
"I could ask the same for you, but i don't care." I looked at him with a smirk, then to the staircase. "We should tell them, that we are awake."
He nodded, and together we went up the staircase to meet the others.
