Sophie’s Pov
When you’re a mother to a toddler, sleep is a nice idea. In theory though, it doesn’t always play out to eight hours a day. I’d gotten home late around eleven-thirty to midnight last night however by the time I’d finished saying good-bye to Reiner and Bertolt, calming Marco, and answering Jean’s interrogation of the night it was upwards of one or two when I was able to go to bed; after I checked on Benji of course.
“Mama! Mama! Mama! Up, up, up! Toons mama, toons!” I groan as my bouncy toddler was jumping on my bed.
“Ugh, Benji buddy mama had a very long night, do you think we could postpone toons for another hour or two?” I groan from my face buried in my pillow.
“Nooooo! Toons now!”
“Please baby?”
There’s a cautious knock, “Uh Benj, do you want to watch a few cartoons with me until your mama gets up?” Marco asks.
“No! Mama, no Marco! Mama!”
I sigh as I sit up and attempt to rub sleep from my eyes, “Thanks for trying Marco but these cartoons are sacred Mommy-Benji time. He won’t take anyone else to watch them with him.”
He smiles and holds up a mug of coffee, “A crap ton of creamer dumped in it with some cinnamon and a little bit over lukewarm, just how you like it.” He says.
I reach for the mug as he gives it to me. Taking a sip of the liquid caffeine I hum in contentment at the warm liquid slipping down my throat. “Thank you Marco-bear, you’re amazing.”
He picks Benji up, “No problem, this little man and I will be waiting in the living room for you while you get dressed.”
“Sure thing.” Marco takes a squirming Benji out of the room and shut the door behind him.
It takes me a few minutes to get dressed into something comfortable before going into the living room and sitting down on the couch with Benji. He climbs into my lap and I wrap my arms around him. Taking up the remote I click onto the DVR and start scrolling through all of the various previously recorded cartoons.
“Which one baby?” I ask.
“Spongebob!”
I suppress a sigh. I really don’t like Spongebob, his laugh sets my teeth on edge. Sadly when Bertolt was watching Benji for me one day he mistakenly clicked on the stupid show for him to watch. Benji’s been hooked on it ever since. Clicking on the show my face twitches for a moment at the first laugh. Marco and Jean both make similar faces but stay silent. This was going to be a bit of a long morning… Good thing Mr.Smith gave me the day off.
Levi’s Pov
Levi takes a deep breath in as he wakes up. Yawning briefly he rolls over enough to look at the clock next to his bed on the bedside drawer, twelve-thirty. Damn, he hadn’t slept this late in a long time. Taking a moment to replay last nights events he couldn’t help but think back to when he was talking with Sophie. It was rather pleasant and at least he got a few more details on her. It still was a bit shocking to know that she didn’t hate him, he was sure she did. Then again, they did have some sort of truce going on.
Sliding out of bed he shuffles into his kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. Sitting down on his couch with his cup of coffee Levi clicks on the television to the news. For a while he just sits there and watches the news with listless attention. However the buzzing of his phone from inside his bedroom. Getting up and grabbing it Levi can’t help but arch a brow at who sent him a message.
