Chapter 15

A few days after Natti left Liz got a phone call from her mom.

“Nici I have to go back to New York, Stacey is in the hospital. I already talked to Stormie and you’re gonna stay with them while I’m gone.”

“Alright is everything okay?”

“I’m not sure. I’ll let you know as soon as I know anything.”

“Promise?”

“Yes I promise, now lets go get your stuff packed.”

Liz and I went through and packed everything we thought we would need while she was away. After we had everything together the Lynch boys came over to help take everything into Rydel’s room. Once everything was in Rydel’s room Riker, Rocky Liz and I got into the van to take Liz to the airport.

Once we got back to the Lynch’s house I was sitting in the living room, with the tv on, not really paying attention to it, when someone sat down next to me.

“Nici are you okay?”

“I don’t know Rik It hasn’t really hit yet and I don't know what's wrong with my sister and she has a six month old daughter.”

“Everything will work out. And I’m here for you if you need to talk, as well as the whole family.”

“Thanks Riker you’re a great big brother.”

“It’s no problem.”

That night after dinner I got a call from Liz and went up to Delly’s room to answer it.

“Hello.”

“Hi Nici, I’m at the hospital.”

“What’s happened is everything okay? What about Scarlett?”

“Stacey overdosed on drugs, she had her stomach pumped, but the drs don't know if she’s gonna be okay as she’s in a coma and they won't know anything until she wakes up if she does. And as for Scarlett she’s with my mom.”

“How long are they giving her to wake up?”

“Two months.”

“Alright keep me updated.”

“I will, I have to go now.”

“Alright I’ll talk to you later.”

I hung up with Liz and went to Riker and Rocky’s room hoping to find one of them.  I found both of them in their room playing a video game. I sat down next to Rocky and laid my head on his shoulder.

“Nic what’s up?”

“Liz called.”

“How is everything?”

“Stacey’s in a coma they are giving her two months to wake up.”

“I’m sorry that must be hard.”

“It is, but at least I have you and your family.”

“And you always will.”

“I’m so glad I met you.”

“Same, if you want to talk you can come to any of us.”

“I know thank you.”

Riker, Rydel, Rocky, Ross and I were in Riker’s car on the to go get food and go to one of Ryland’s football games. Riker was driving and Rydel was in the passenger seat. Rocky Ross and I were in the backseat Ross was on the left behind Riker, Rocky was in the middle and I was on the right side behind Rydel.

On the way to the game a truck ran a red light and was headed right towards our car going well above the speed limit.  Riker stepped on the gas and Rocky pulled me between him and Ross and used his body to protect me.

The next thing I know I’m in a hospital room with a cast on my leg and bandages all over.

“So good to see you’re awake.”

“What happened?”

“You were in a car crash, but those boys you were with saved your life.”

“Where are they, can I see them?”

“You can we just need to contact your guardian.”

“I’m my own guardian. And the person I live with is in New York.”

“Is there anyone we can talk to?”

“Riker Lynch.”

“Alright we’ll bring him in.”

The nurse left and came back with Riker.

“Rike.”

“Nici I’m so glad you’re you’re okay. I’m so sorry.”

“It’s not your fault.”

“I know, I still feel bad though, cause you were in my car and got hurt.”

“It’s okay Riker, I don’t blame you.”

“I love you so much Nici.”

“I love you too Riker.”

The Dr. then came in to talk to us.

“Hi I’m Dr. Smith.”

“Hello.”

“So what’s wrong with me?”

“You have a few scratches a broken leg and a mild concussion, but you can leave as long as you have someone to look after you.”

“I have Riker.”

“Alright I’ll get the discharge papers.”

I signed the papers and Riker pushed me over to the room Ross and Rocky were in.

“you’re alright?”

“I am.”

“So we can all leave?”

“Yes. I just have to let mom know.”

“Where’s Rydel?”

“Mom came and got her.”

“Alright, lets go.”

Riker called his mom and we all went back to the Lynch’s house in a car Riker had rented as his car was pretty beat up. When we got back to the Lynch’s house, Rocky and I collapsed on the couch together and Ross sprawled out on the loveseat.

“Nici do you want to call Liz or do you want me to?”

“I can call.”

I sat up and positioned myself so I was leaning against Rocky for support and called Liz.

“Hi little sis.”’

“Hi Liz.”

“What’s up?”

“I was kinda in an accident.”

“What, Are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m okay, I have a mild concussion and a broken leg.”

“Do I need to come back?”

“No I’ll be fine. I have the Lynch’s to look after me.”

“Alright I’ll talk to you later stay safe.”

“I will sis. I love you.”

“Love you too.”
