(A/N): This reminds me of (Y/N) in this chapter. You'll understand why when you read 😂 (Apologies to those who find the post any way, shape, or form offensive b/c there are so many people who believe in Jesus Christ very much and I don't want to offend anyone with religious stuff.)

~(Y/N)'s POV~

We're back in Dareth's dojo again. We were doing stretches earlier but now we're learning more of the ninjas' elements. Right now, it's Jay's turn. He's teaching us how to control his element with a lightbulb. Me, uh, being experienced with this type of stuff. It's not that it's hard, I just don't want do it. I'm just watching Lloyd attempt to make the lightbulb glow without breaking it for the insert-amount-of-lightbulbs time. This makes Jay think I don't know how at all.

"Face your lightbulb and focus, (Y/N)," says Jay. "You too, Lloyd. Control the power inside you. When you feel a surge welling up, harness it."

Ah... I really have to, huh? I guess since it's not my father who's making me do this, I'm fine with this—mostly. I face my lightbulb and sigh quietly through my nose. I focus my energy into the lightbulb and was about to make it glow, but sudden sound of glass breaking causes my own to glow that it breaks from how much energy I flowed through it. Though, the thing is...it wasn't shining yellow...it was black.

The way my powers work is just weird. One moment it's pink, the next it's black.

I hope no one saw that, so I try to play it off by bashfully scratching the back of my head. I've heard him break the glass, like, A BAZILLION TIMES now—why did I get scared that time?

"Stupid lightbulb!" Lloyd insults, irritated. "You're putting too much pressure on us! Let me have one more try."

"Sorry, Lloyd," Kai apologizes, "that was the last lightbulb. You even used the spare for (Y/N)."

"To be fair, I let him take it," I say.

"That's because you weren't even trying on yours!" Jay points out.

"Shhhhh, I know." I close my eyes with a smirk, hand out to Jay to calm him.

"You have to start getting more serious, (Y/N)," lectures Kai. "You need to train if you're going to help Lloyd defeat his father."

"Okay," I sigh.

I can deal with fighting or training fist to fist, or anything without using my powers. It's just that...using my powers is kind of a personal thing I hesitate on, but I don't reject Kai's request. If it means to help other people be safe, then I guess it's okay.

"Clean up, you two," Cole hands us brooms. "We'll continue training tomorrow."

Lloyd just snatches a broom from him and starts smacking it onto a punching bag. I grab the other broom from Cole and start using it the way it's intended—sweeping. I also grab a dustpan to help me pick up the shards.

I hear Jay sigh, "What am I doing wrong, Sensei Wu? I can't seem to teach Lloyd how to control his power and (Y/N) just refuses the first several times we try to teach her."

Ah, sorry, Jay. Using my inhuman strength is one thing, but my actual powers is a no-go. That's something I really feel uncomfortable doing around since it's an extremely different thing compared to my strength.

Since I'm facing Lloyd, I got the glorious view of him getting smacked on the face by the broom after hitting it on the punching bag too hard. I laugh as he starts saying a cliché catchphrase of any superhero book.
