"You told me you were trying!"

"And that's what I did. I tried, I tried and I fucking tried but guess what Everest? Sometimes trying just isn't good enough!" Alicia yelled.

"Don't raise your God damn voice at me, Alicia! You know why I get like this and you know you can't be doing things like that!" Everest spat every word out whilst pacing around the room, his face filled with anger.

"What's the big fucking deal? I'm going to die eventually!" Alicia spat back even harder.

                       Everest froze.

"Who the fuck said you were going to die?" He questioned shaking his head.

"Everest, look at me," Alicia demanded.

She took off her beanie, "Look at me and tell me you don't want me to get out of your life. Look at me and tell me you're not ashamed to have a girlfriend that has cancer for fucks sake! Look at me and tell me you don't want me to die," she concluded.

Her eyes began to get watery.

Everest looked taken back but more hurt than anything.

Alicia scoffed, "I'm not blind. I see the way girls look at you—,"

Cutting Alicia off, Everest began, "But do you see me looking at them? Huh?" He yelled.

"I wouldn't have been in a two year relationship with you, Alicia. I wouldn't care for shit I remember like how the first time I ever spoke it was a simple 'move' because you were new and in my seat. Or the fact that that same night I saw you at the Donut shop across the street from the park yet I couldn't even keep my God damn eyes off of you but you wouldn't know that because you never looked up. Or the fact that the night I asked you to be my girlfriend, you made me promise to not hurt you because the last relationship you were in, you caught your boyfriend cheating with your cousin on your bed. But no, yeah. Since all of that doesn't matter or prove that I fucking love you, then yeah it's true what you said,"

He shrugs aggressively, chest moving at an uncontrollable rate.

Once Everest turned around, he realized that Alicia was on the floor, sobbing. He stepped closer to her.

"Alicia," Everest's voice cracked. He slowly walked towards her, bending down.

Everest slowly engulfed her into a hug, "Princess, don't cry. I don't want you to limit our months by you smoking. I don't understand why'd you think I'd want any other girl that isn't you," he paused, "The same girl I began a relationship with two years ago is the same girl I want to be with forever with or without cancer".

She sniffled, "You deserve better. You should be with someone who will give you all that you need & want. Someone who won't hold you back—,"

"How are you holding me back?" Everest questioned bewildered.

"You're helping my mother with all the payments and that was your money to go to college," Alicia answered, looking up at him with teary eyes.

"You don't need to worry about that. If I'm doing it, it's because I want to Alicia," replied Everest.

After a moment of silence,

Everest whispered, "You're not holding me back baby and you're not going anywhere," he kissed her forehead whilst rubbing her back softly.

                 6 MONTHS LATER

"You're going to make it princess. I promise," Everest whispered, wiping his tears frantically all while holding Alicia's hand.

"Everest. I think you should get some rest. Go ahead sweetie. I'll call you if she wakes up," Alicia's mother stated, trying extremely hard to fight the tears that wanted to so badly leave her body.

Everest sniffled a couple of times before agreeing.

Before exiting, he gave Alicia a kiss on the forehead.

"Oh Alicia," her mother sobbed once she heard the door close.

About 30 minutes later, the nurse came in, informing the mother of Alicia's problem.

Last night, Alicia tried to commit suicide. She didn't see the possibility of her being happy, much less the chances of her surviving.

Everest didn't understand as to why she would do that. He thought she was happy. He thought with the therapy and his support, her hopes would get up.

                   He thought wrong.

With the amount of blood loss, the Doctors say she'd either wake up in a few days or not wake up at all.

Everest had his head down and arms folded across his chest when the answer was revealed. He saw numerous doctors and nurses running towards room 515.

As soon as his legs lifted up from the chair, he raced down to the room, pushing and shoving anyone that got in the way of him seeing the only girl he'd ever love.

"Sir, you can't come in here," but Everest kept shoving every nurse he could, not understanding what one nurse said. "Sir, I said you can't come in," the nurse exclaimed.

He shoved past the nurses, "The girl I love is in that room, now if you'll excuse me,"

"Sir, I already told you! You cannot—,"

The nurse was cut off by the sound of a heart monitor going flat.
