A/N: Hey guys. Bear with me here... This prologue is the longest fucking thing ever. It also has many important details so pay attention. You guys are awesome. I love y'all. Enjoy! ~Janey
Mirelle "Elle" Joyce is a normal girl. She has long, blonde hair. She likes the color blue. She wears glasses. Her life is normal. She has three friends: Augustus, Susan, and Jack. They hang out, have fun, go to parties, and live normal lives.
But sometime life takes an unexpected turn.
All of a sudden, Elle feels as if she's been deprived of natural needs. Her father and mother divorce. Elle decides to live with her mother. But lately Elle gets suspicious of her mom. She leaves at random hours of the day and arrives back hime, stumbling into the dark of night. On June 22, Kristine Jitz overdosed on crack cocaine, heroine, and alcohol.
Elle was crushed. She moved in with her father and the devil herself: Wendy. Wendy became Elle's stepmother soon after the funeral of Kristine (which her father didn't attend). Elle assumed Wendy had some split personality disorder because when Geoff, Elle's father, was around, Wendy was as sweet as maple syrup. But when Wendy was alone with Elle, shit got real. She was abusive, physically, emotionally and verbally. Her words like vipers.
Oh, and every stepmom has two daughters, right? But just wait, in this Cinderella story, Mandy is actually sincere. She acts like a mother to Elle. But Lindy? Not so much. She is a copy of her mother. Slapping Elle on every occasion she gets.
Every story has it's angst (that's for damn sure). On an unexpected turn of events, Mandy tragically dies from a severe athsma attack. Ever since the funeral, Wendy changed. Her sweet side was demolished by anger. She takes all of it out onto Elle. Poor Elle tells her dad (finally) about what's been going on and he brushes it aside. "She's just depressed, El." Her father tells her.
So with a deceased drunkard mother, an abusive stepmother, a father who doesn't care, a stepsister who is in the ground, and an exact copy of Weny for a sibling, Elle is totally and completely lost.
What do you think Elle will do? Run away? Tell off her new family? Turn to her friends?
