AN: this is a one-shot story.

Originally it's my assignment in literature. Just made some revisions, mostly minor details but it's still the same story.

Hope you'll like it. Enjoy :D

Ashnelle woke up with the feeling like there was someone staring at her. She's sleeping under a tree in the backyard of their University and as she open her eyes, she was greeted by the face that never fails to annoy the hell out of her--even by just looking at it.

"What are you doing here?" she hissed.

The guy just smile, the kind of smile that can melt every female population of that university's knees--except her, obviously.

Ashnelle wasn't the type that can get along with anyone easily, she's a loner and a very logical girl to believe that fairy tale and happy endings do exist. She's a stiff and sometimes she can be cruel as she becomes too straightforward.

A sadist with an angelic face.

Ashnelle and Ruiz lives in the same neighborhood but she always every time he's near because to her, he means 'Big' trouble. He always do crazy stunt that involves her whether she liked it or not and those times never fails to make her angry.

The two of them had a very different personality that keeps them from getting along. Most of the time, he was jolly while she was the serious one.

"Go away, would you?" after saying that, all she got in return was a smile.

She was annoyed for Pete's sake, she stand up and plans to leave but he stopped her by pulling her back on the arm.

"Hey! Why are you always acting in that cold manner?"

"It's none of you damn business, Montañez"

He just smiled in my annoyance "it is, Ash. We're neighbours who goes in the same University, we're also childhood friends so that means that I know long enough to care."

She then looks at him, she hates it whenever someone talks about her attitude and way of dealing with others. "If you're saying that you know me, then you're mistaken and we've never been friends so would you just stop acting like you do?" she hates it whenever he's interfering with her personal life.

"Oh, yes I do. You just don't notice it because you are too busy isolating yourself from all of us."

He knew her for being a girl who was accustomed to share her feelings to other for the fact that she hates receiving pity from them. She hates being weak and he couldn't stand her being alone.

She was tough to live her whole life alone. Not needing help from others, not ever for little things.

"Ah---wait!" she continue walking despite my call "Jude told me to inform you about our band rehearsal after class, you know for this coming Tuesday's event" I told her while chasing her "it's after class in the music room on the second floor of arts building. He also told me that he will make an important announcement, so you better come."

He smiled at her again before walking pass her.

"How can he even think that I can escape, ife we're on the same class?" she utter in disbelief. They are on the same University, on the same band, on the same course and worst on the same class! "Really, I hate him to the core!"

In the class Ruiz had a lot of friends, well--knowing the candid prince that he was. And her? Oh, no one ever considered her approachable so that just mean that-- she had no one least to consider as a friend.
