Chapter 30

Jeannie's POV

It just happened! Never did I ever imagine that I would ever love a person so deeply. The person who changed me and warmed my frozen and cold heart had rejected me.

It hurts a lot.

I loved him with the idea that he loved me too. It just wasn't true. I loved him endlessly like a bottomless pit. The impact of a person's words finally made sense to me. Even though it was just mere words, I could feel the pain all over me. Now all this emotions and feeling are loitering within me and I'm helpless. What should I do?

One thing for sure, I can't be with him anymore. Once my eyes meet his, it's a dead end. All the barriers I make against him will crumble down effortlessly.  I'll have to distance myself from him as much as possible. States apart, countries apart, oceans apart, continents apart. I need to go back to where I'm from. I can't be in Korea anymore.

I booked the earliest flight back to Australia via my travel agency. It was hard but I was willing to pay thrice the amount for the flight which departs in 3 hours. The sooner the better. I packed everything I could fit in my suitcase. Rosè wasn't home yet. Lisa was asleep on her bed.

"Lisa! Hey wake up" I shook her vigorously.

"Mmmm" she groaned.

"I'm leaving. I'm going to Australia" I said.

"Mmmm okay" she replied. I looked at her for a minute. She slowly opened her eyes and processed what I just told her.

"What?!!" she got up "You're leaving? When? Why? How? With whom? What about me?"

"I'm going by myself. There is some business issue. Got to go to fix it. I don't think I'll be coming back"

"NO...no I haven't heard anything. The last time I checked, everything was going smooth. You're lying" she said in denial.

"I can't trust people there" I made an excuse "With the three of us in Korea, god know what they are up to. I need to check it for myself. OK. So, I got to leave. Stay well and tell Rosè about it. I'll contact you once I get there"

"Take me with you" she whined.

"I'll meet you there"

"Why are you leaving all of a sudden?? Why now? Why can't you go tomorrow?"

"Just. I'll explain everything once I get there. Can you stop asking so many questions now?" I could feel my blood boiling. Namjoon's rejection replayed on my mind. Lisa's constant questioning wasn't helping.

"At least let me reach you till the airport" she said softly.

"Okay" I agreed.

Lisa was stuck with me throughout the procedure. She did know that something wrong had happened resulting me to leave. However, I'm glad she didn't say a word about it.

"This is it!" I said in front of the security check "You can't come any further"

She just frowned at me.

"Bye" I hugged her tightly "Don't let Rosè get too mad at me"

"Do you have to leave?" I asked. "Isn't there any other way?"

"This is the only way" I smiled bitterly and entered the security check.

"Spend the night with me?" he asked.

"Is that the only option?"
