Write a story about a police officer finding out his brother is a murderer.

His mind was lost in the endless pit of astonishment. His breathing becoming coarse, palms sweaty, his body trembling in grief.

"Jake."

His name echoed heavily through the room. Jake looked up to the chief police officer, who was staring back at him, sorrow in his eyes.

"Jake," he began "I'm sorry, but there is no other way to put this. Everything adds up, the evidence is fact. Blake is the murderer." The chief chocked back on the last sentence. Staring at his feet, Jake got up and looked up at his boss. A couple of seconds passed until he finally spoke, his voice cracking.

"I..." he breathed, before continuing. "I know... I'm- I'm going outside for some fresh air." Before his boss could retaliate, Jake ran outside, slamming the door. Jake breathed, before falling upon the cold concrete. His screams of anguish filled the cool winter air, as he cupped his face into his hands, tears falling upon the ground. Memories of him and Blake as kids flashed through his mind. Playing basketball, going in vacation, eating dinner together. Everything was gone.

Everything.

I am new at writing, so I am going's to try and write one shots everyday in order to improve my writing skills and fuel my creativity. I may post multiple times a day, or I may post only once a day.
