When I get in my house, my parents are cuddling on the couch watching television.

"Where you been?" my father asks. I stop in my tracks. He knows.

"Just out with a friend, "I say. Which isn't entirely a lie.

"Who's your friend?" he asks still focused on the television. My mother looks at me and smiles a small smile. I try to smile back.

"Umm," I say. I don't want him to know about Kevin. "Just a girl friend." I made sure it sounded separated.

"One manly looking girl you got, "my dad chuckles. "She your girlfriend?" Kevin...a she, I laugh along with my father.

"No, but I might like that one day," I say. I think of Kevin's soft lips on my forehead and blush.

"I'd like to meet this girl," my mom says giving me a knowing look. "She seems to be something if your blushing like that." I cover my face.

"Well goodnight guys, "I say walking up the stairs. I go to my room and lock my door. That was close. Good thing he wore a dress today. That dress...so tight fitting on him. I would never have the courage to wear something like that. I sigh and put my PJs on. I close my eyes and dream.

                —————–

"Marcus get up it's late", my mother calls. I groan as she continues to knock-on the door. I sit up and look around dazed. My room was a mess. As I reach over to get my phone I feel a slight discomfort between my legs. Oh God morning wood.

" Marcus, didn't I tell you to get up, " my mother says barging into my room.

"Mom!"I say covering up my body with my covers.

"I'll only be a sec," she says taking socks from my draw." take a shower before you leave. It smells like a football locker room in here." With that, she leaves.

I groan and getting up to go to the bathroom. I turn on the cold water and stand in it. After I clean up, I get out and get dressed. Brittney Spears Toxic is playing in my head as I put on my sneakers and head downstairs. My mother is in the living room collecting socks my dad left laying around and my dad is in the kitchen eating leftover pizza from the night before. I grab a banana and make my way out the door.

When I get to school I make my way to the first period, AP English. Mr. Taylor is already writing down a lesson plan for the day when I walk in.

"Ah Marcus just the boy I was looking for," he says.

"Yes sir," I say.

"There's a new assistant in the English department, "He says," I trust you know about the shortage in staff."I nod."Good. He needs a guide. So I'm going to need you to be the one to help him. You have a friendly face."

"I-I do?"I say. Mr. Taylor chuckles. He puts his arms around my shoulders.

"I'm glad I can count on you to do this," he says. I blush and nod my head. Truth is I've had a crush on Mr. Taylor since I first met him. I know it's wrong to like a teacher but he was unbelievably good looking with his mossy green eyes that seemed to be starting into your soul. If he knew I was thinking of him in this way he'd be disgusted. He had a wife and he wasn't gay. And I am Not gay either, I remind myself.

When class is over he tells me that the new assistant will be waiting for me in the cafeteria later today. I was to meet him and work out details of when we'd be working together. I walk into fourth period feeling drowsy as ever. My lunch period is next and I have no energy to talk to this new assistant. Fourth period is geometry, I hate geometry.
