Best Friends

“The Wanted?! The WANTED?! THE WANTED is on?! WHAT?! WHEN?! WHERE?!” yelled Alysha repeatedly, while her Best Friend Monique, with her eyes open wide, staring at her, like she is insane “My you are certainly a ‘The Wanted’ fan aren’t you?” she said, but Alysha took no notice still jumping up and down crazily.

On the day of the concert, Alysha drags her friend into the stadium, knowing full-well Monique doesn’t like them at all. Monique begs she doesn’t want to listen to the band sing and says she prefers to be in her room, back at her house, glued to her iPad. Alysha however has other ideas, completely ignoring Monique’s screams. Walking forward Alysha hurriedly walks towards the stadium dragging her friend behind her trying to escape Alysha’s firm grip.

After the concert - three hours­­­ of torture according to Monique – she stormed backstage with Alysha following behind her. At first sight of ‘The Wanted’ Alysha’s mouth slightly parts, words refusing to come out she stood there frozen to the spot. Monique however had other ideas…she threatens them not to “destroy anymore innocent lives” pointing to the ‘still frozen’ Alysha, saying it “ruins friendships”. Finally snapping out of her daze, watching Monique storm towards her car Alysha apologizes to Nathan and the other lads for her friend, and sadly tells them that Monique will follow through with her threats if they continue making music. Turning around and walking away Alysha takes one last sad glance at her idols before running off towards her besties car. When Alysha got into her car she saw Monique looking quite happy with herself, slumping down into her seat she ignored her friend.

ONE YEAR LATER…

Once again Alysha drags Monique to another ‘The Wanted’ concert. Although Monique is pissed off at her friend…again; she stops her constant whining and goes to the grounds where the concert is being held just to make her friend happy. After listening to the band play she was so impressed that the lads actually listened to her and accepted her apology with Alysha grinning like mad that her friend has finally given the boys a chance. After the concert was over and the girls got back to Monique’s house, where Alysha was staying a few nights Monique confessed to Alysha saying “Alysha, I know you will say ‘I told you so’  by screaming in my ear making me deaf but…I actually like A FEW of ‘The Wanted’ songs”. And with such shock Alysha gasped, grabbed Monique’s shoulders, shaking her and jumping up and down yelling “I TOLD YOU SO! I TOLD YOU SO! I TOLD YOU SO! AREN’T THE LADS GREAT OR WHAT?!?!?!” Then at that moment Monique whispered silently to herself “What have I gotten myself into?”
