It was pretty cold outside today, the wind was blowing gently but if it touched your skin it would feel like ice but it was very busy out in Small Heath. Cars zooming up and down, people shouting, kids playing. It was like the cold never bothered them.
As Isabella walked down the street gently tugging her coat more around her smiling to anyone who passed by, yet all she could think about was the encounter she had a couple days ago with the men whom she only knew one, John. His name stuck in her head as she remembered how beautiful his eyes way yet his looks so dangerous. Gently she pushed the library doors open "good morning again" she old lady called "good morning, I'm here to return the books" Isabella smilled "great, if you want anymore go pick them up while I sort these out" Isabella nodded her head as she walked around the small place, trying to find a book she hasn't read yet. Sighing softly to her self she picked up only one book and took it to the counter "just this one please miss" she spoke to the lady "oh I'm sorry dear my name is Dolly" she replied which caused Isabella to smile greatly "you have such a pretty name" Isabella complemented "and so do you dear, a pretty name for a pretty face" Dolly replied causing Isabella to blush "here's your books, I hope you enjoy and are back soon" "oh I will be, have a good day Dolly" Isabella called as she walked out the shop.
Once she was outside she placed her book in her bag so she wouldn't loose it, as she began walking down the street she heard a faint call of her name, turning round she spotted John and began to blush faintly "good morning John" she spoke as he reached her "morning Isabella, what you doing out in this cold?" He asked noticing how she wrapped her arms around herself "I was just at the library exchanging books" she replied quietly "you like to read?" He asked to which she nodded her head "yes, I've read since I was a little girl. My father taught me" as she finally looked up to meet his eyes, they both just stood there for a couple seconds looking into each other's eyes until somebody coughed "morning Isabella, I'm tommy" John sighed "oh good morning" Isabella said with her faint blush growing darker "how's your mother?" Tommy asked causing Isabella to turn her head sideways in confusion "my mother fine?" She replied "great, come on John we need to go" Tommy spoke to John as he turned his back and walked off. Isabelle still confused as John spoke "uh right, yeah sorry about that see you later" he nodded his head and jogged off to his brother. Turning around Isabella was deep in her thoughts wondering how Tommy knew of her mother, yes everyone has one but the way he asked seemed like he actually knew her, pushing it to the side and telling herself that she would ask her mother when she gets home.
As Isabella reached home after taking a long walk it was already around 7pm as she opened the door she was hit with the smell of food, making her stomach rubble as she shut the door. Walking into the kitchen her mother stood by the stove "good evening mother how was your day?" Isabella asked which startled her mother "oh Isabella you make me jump but yes it was good thank you for asking" Isabella giggled "sorry mother, oh I have a question for you" Grace nodded her head as she wiped her hands on her apron "yes dear?" She asked looking at her only child "some people with the last name Shelby asked about you today, do you know them" Grace froze for a few seconds before trying to busy herself once again "um, yes I think they was a friend of your fathers" she responded not meeting Isabella's eyes "nothing to worry about darling, eat you food before it gets cold" Isabella couldn't help but notice her mother's discomfort but chose to ask nothing else "yes mother" she replied softly.
Not long after Isabella got sat on her bed with the moonlight glaring down on her reading her book, without knowing that a certain someone was across she street watching silently in pure awe of her beauty. For maybe one day, she will be his.
