Kevin P.O.V

I walk to my car in a haze. My eyes are cloudy with tears and my dress is torn. I feel like crap. Marcus hates me and all I wanted to do was help him. I get in my car and sit for a while. Gosh, why couldn't I get his face out of my head?

I breathe in slowly and turn on the radio. Adele's "chasing pavements" is on. She always has a song for what I'm feeling and this is exactly the way I feel. I let my tears flow as I wipe the blood from my cheek. When I'm done I wipe my face and re-do my makeup. Then I hear a tap on my window. It's some guy in a suit. I roll my window down and smile politely.

"Hey man," he starts, "life is worth living but this isn't the best place to be crying...you gotta go. I'm sorry."

"Oh no it's okay," I say starting the car. "I was just leaving." That's when I remembered why I was there. I turn the car off and get out.

"What are you doing?" the guy asks.

"Sorry I just remembered why I was here, "I say straightening my dress. It's still torn. I go to my trunk and grab a pair of jeans and a shirt. "Could you show me to the woman's room."

"Um yeah sure," the guy says. We walk in silence to the building entrance and when we get in he shows me the bathroom. I walk in and 2 girls are making out in an open stall. The girl standing in the mirror doing her makeup looks at me wide-eyed.

"You look fierce," she says snapping her fingers. I smile widely.

"Thanks, " I say going into the small and closing the door. Why wasn't Marcus friends with someone like her? He didn't seem like the type to want friends in the first place but they would do him some good. I sigh and change into my jeans and shirt. I'm keeping my heels on. Maybe the kid isn't too mad I'm late. Maybe he's cute...and gay...and not underage. I blow out a frustrated puff and exit my stall to fix my makeup again in the mirror. I smile at my reflection and walk out. People stare as I strut down the hallway with complete confidence. I won't let what happened to me get me down. Marcus will come to his senses sooner or later. And when he does, I'll be waiting.

"Kevin?!"I turn and see Aiden Taylor walking down the hall to me.

"Hey Aiden," I say. He smiles then looks puzzled.

"Why aren't you with your guide?" he asks, "you should have met an hour ago."

"There was an incident in the lunch room, "I say, "I left and totally forgot that I was supposed to meet him."

"Oh..." he says just as the announcements come on.

"Mr. Taylor," the monitor says." please report to the dean's office. Now."
Aiden sighs and smiles at me.

"Mind following me to the office," he asks. I nod and we continue to the office. Just as I had expected Marcus is still there. I can feel his eyes on me as I follow Aiden to a seat.

"Marcus, what happened?" Aiden asks.

"I got into a fight," He says holding his stomach. I wince as I remember him falling to the ground. It's as if I can feel the punches. I couldn't help but feel bad because my smart mouth had earned him the punch. He was right. I did make it worse.

"I don't believe this," Aiden says. "It must've been one hell of an insult for you to be fighting."

"Insult, that's rich, "I laugh bitterly.

"You were there Kevin?," Aiden asks. Marcus looks at me and I nod.

"I was, "I said. Marcus looks down and shakes his head.

"You've already made a bad impression on our visitor," Aiden scolds Marcus.

"Visitor?" he asks." he's the new assistant?"
