((Hey guys! This isn't part of the story, its more of a dedication/acknowledgements. If you want to read the prologue, go right ahead and skip this part. I hope you guys enjoy!
So, a year or so ago, I posted a story on Wattpad called The Fault In OUR Stars, a short story BASED on John Green's novel. Hazel's story inspired me so much that I finally had the courage to write it and put it up on the internet for everyone to see.
I didn't think the story would get many reads, as I read many others that were beautifully written. But, WOW. in almost twelve months, the story had gotten over 39K reads!
That's THIRTY-NINE GRAND.
THIRTY FRICKING NINE.
I was astounded when it got a thoudand. Then two thousand. Then ten thousand. To some writers, that may not be much, but to me, it meant the world. To me, it meant that people enjoyed reading the little drabbles I worte, and inspired some to start their own journey to inspire others. Reading all the comments and messages; the little things you guys said made me the happiest person in the world.
Then, a couple of months ago, I recieved a little message from Wattpad. "Hey, we'd like you to be part of the official TFIOS campaign, and we loved your story! We'd love for you, and the top TFIOS fanfiction writers, to write a short story on what TFIOS means to you..."
Wait a second. Top fanfiction writers? I was so confused. I searched 'TFIOS', and guess who was the third most recommended?
ME! US! WE! ME!
I cried tears of happiness when I found out. This was such an honour for me, I was so blessed to have this once-in-a-lifetime oppurtunity. I was thankful for everything, and everyone who supported me; it didn't matter if it was a read, or a comment, or a vote, or even if they had recommended it to a friend. Words cannot describe how thankful and blessed I am. Thank you. Thank you, thank you thank you, thank YOU. Yes you. I don't care if we haven't met, or if we have. I don't care if we are family, or friends, or lovers or strangers; I LOVE YOU, and if it wasn't for you, I would have never gotten to be where I am today. Thank you so much, I cannot yell it loud enough, or put enough emotion into these words as I scream them to you.
This is the story I wrote for the TFIOS campaign. It's not my best work, as I had other things to focus on *ahemmidtermsahem*, but for this to be done in such a short time, I can say I'm very proud of it. I hope you guys enjoy this, and if you do, please tell me! Don't be afraid to tell me how I can improve too, it would be very much appreciated. I love you guys, to the end of the world, and back.
Love, Nat.))
