He could watch her soft fingers run through her hair all day long, enjoying the way the strands would flow around her nails and glide across her shoulder. He loved the soft stutter of breath that escaped her lips as his warm arms slid across her waist. He pushed his lips into her neck, breathing in her honey scent. "You look beautiful, Patrice." He murmured against her soft skin.

Patrice huffed in response to his advancement towards her. "I'm trying to get ready for work, here" She stood up and got her hat "Isn't that what you need to do? You dirty man!"

Dennis sucked in a tight breath, blinking at her retreating form. "I didn't even-" he felt the fight leave his chest. "I'm sorry." He murmured, hanging his head low. He continued to button his shirt up, and to slip on his shoes before swinging his backpack over his shoulder.

"Yeah go do something useful! You pitiful excuse of a man." She huffed again, slamming the front door behind her, and getting into her car and taking off down the street.

His teeth were clenched as he opened the door, stepping past the splintered frame that creaks from being slammed one to many times. He walked to the school only a few blocks away, clearing his head as he got ready for a new year of teaching. He stepped past the front gate, catching a few early risers chatting by the fence. He slipped into his office and dropped his bag down before getting dressed in the locker room for his first class.

There was some commotion near the stairs near by as somebody was arguing. "Look Molly, your just to odd is all. I don't think it's going to work." The young man said.

"But I, I thought we were going to the dance together?" Molly cried.

"Forget it I can't deal with this, besides I want to take Kathy" He stated, beginning to walk away.

She grabbed the sleeve on his football jacket. "Please don't leave me! I'll be better for you! please! don't go" She cried. He yanked his arm away and headed to his first class. She was left, just standing there looking down.

Dennis stepped out of the locker room, rounding the corner at the sound of the argument. He saw the small girl falling in on herself, her blonde hair cascading around her soft face. "Hey." He murmured gently, trying to catch her eyes.

She looked up at him, her eyes red rimmed with tears. "Oh." She used her sleeve of her light pink sweater to wipe at her face. "I'm sorry." She tried to walk away.

"Hey." He said again, stunned by the sight of her teary eyes. He reached out and caught her arm. His tongue wetting his lower lip nervously as he shifted his feet to stand before her, blocking her exit. "Can you tell me what happened?"

"Just." She looked down, embarrassed. "My boyfriend just broke it off with me. He's embarrassed to be around me." She began to cry again. He squinted at the beautiful girl in confusion.

"Embarrassed?" He wondered. He couldn't think of anyone not wanting to be with her, she had such delicate stance and a sweet smoothing voice. "You don't won't to be with someone like that." He urged, getting distracted by her soft curling hair that framed her face.

"He was going to take me to the dance but now." She put her hands on her face, and broke down crying. "I'm sorry...I'm such a fool."

He didn't even think before embracing the girl in his arms, as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "No your not." He murmured, as he squeezed his hand. "I'm sure there's plenty of guys who would love to take you dancing."

"I doubt it... I'm too odd, that's what he called me." She said, hugging him tighter. She smelt like spring strawberries.

He swallowed thickly at the feel of her soft hands pressing against his arm. He then noticed their hold, it was inappropriate, especially for a male teacher. "He can't expect you to be his perfect vision. You shouldn't feel bad about being who you are." He whispered, moving his thumb along her slender shoulder.
