It was yet another beautiful day in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. King Triton was as excited as the rest of the mer-people in Atlantis for the celebration of music that would take place later that night. As the king, King Triton must make sure that it all goes as planned, which means nothing must go wrong. As King Triton made his rounds to see how the work was coming along, his right-hand crab Sebastian came swimming/scurrying along looking as happy as one could be. Chuckling, King Triton asked him why he seemed so excited.

"Your majesty, I have wonderful news!" Sebastian said with happiness filling his Jamaican voice. "Your daughters will be on stage and singing as well! All the hard work and all the time that we put into practicing will have paid off! Be proud, Your Majesty. Your daughters have beautiful voices inherited from their mother."

King Triton's mood changed from happy and excited to sad and hopeless in a less than a second at the mention of his late wife. He remembered that dark day very clearly, as if it happened just yesterday. He remembered those savage humans killing his beautiful and lovely wife and almost took the lives of his young daughters as well. If that had happened he thought miserably, I might have took my own life.

"Your Majesty? Your Majesty!" Sebastian yelled, snapping the King out of his depressed thoughts. King Triton looked at Sebastian sadly, where as Sebastian looked at him angrily. "There will be nooo moping today. Now go on and wipe that sad look off of your face."

As always, The King was glad to have Sebastian there to bring him out of that horrible mood. Without the little crab, King Triton would have ended his life long ago. He knew that would have been and would be selfish if he did so, but he felt like he couldn't help it sometimes. What if he did? What would become of his kingdom? Of his daughters'? He didn't want to think about the possibilities of anything bad every happening to either one, so he shook the thoughts out of his head and once again started off on making his rounds.

"Oh, Flounder! Look, it's a...a...gah! What's it called again?" Ariel asked her best friend in the whole sea.

"A...boat? Yeah, that's it! It's called a boat!"

"Oh! Right! How could I have forgotten? Lets go check it out!" As soon as the words left Ariel's mouth, she swam off, never giving her friend a chance to refuse, as he usually did.

As Ariel and flounder drew closer, they both noticed the water was...murkier compared to the water they swam in just a few feet ago. They tread slowly and carefully. The water was dirty and Ariel could hardly see the closer they got and felt a weird feeling pass over her, but they were almost there so she ignored it.

"A-a-a-ariel? I don't like this. There's something wrong with the water here, and it's making me feel sick. Can we just go back? Please?" Flounder, despite being her best friend, could become annoying and guppy-like at times. He never wanted to go on an adventure until he was already on one. Ariel sighed and turned to look at him.

"Come on, Flounder! We're almost there! It's just a little bit further, so stop being such a guppy!" Ariel couldn't help but feel more than annoyed with the way he was acting. When did they ever find any real danger? Besides seeing sharks, when have they ever gotten injured?

"I-i-i-i'm not a guppy!" Flounder huffed out, trying, and failing, to sound brave. Ariel gave a small chuckle at his attempt, but forgave him, nonetheless.
