“Wanna spar me?”
How could I refuse to that?
--------- Recap ---------
I got into stance, a confident grin spread on my face. 'Peter has nothing on me.'
I was distracted by my thoughts that I barely dodged the punched that was shoved in my direction.
Dick gave a hearty laugh at my lack of concentration. "Shut up Grayson."
After a few more minutes we were a good five feet apart, both of us panting. I remember Peter prodding his left rib, and wincing. 'Maybe that will get him down.'
I charged at him and slid under his legs. As soon as his chest twisted, my hand connected with it.
He gave a small gasp and curled up on instinctive.
I froze, wondering what I did to cause him to go like that.
Dick rushed over to him, "Pete? Are you okay?" The answer was obvious, but he asked it anywas.
Peter stiffly shook his head. "Can you uncurl? Where does it hurt?"
Peter compiled and uncurled. His righ hand was pressed over his left chest, as to increase pressure on it.
I went over to Dick as he moved Peter's hand and took off the shirt to look for any bruising.
I almost fell back from what I saw. Dick just looked at it, at a complete loss for words.
There was a thin, bit jagged line down his stomach, already a scar. My mind connected the peices slowly as my gaze landed on a mark.
The edges were blackened, but sorta tan. The burnt emblem sent shivers down my spine.
It was the shape of a batarang, but the points were a lot sharper. Made for getting people down.
Permanently.
"What happened?" Dick's voice got soft as he asked.
"I don't know, when I woke, my chest hurt, like someone stood on it. So when I changed I saw them."
"We should call Bruce." I whispered, then said it louder, my voice steadier.
Dick nodded, "yeah." He pulled out his phone and called Bruce. I was staring at the door when I saw a form move.
I snapped my gaze over to where the spider was, and saw that he was missing.
I tugged on Dicks sleeve, he gave me a questioning look, soon noticing that the spider was gone. "So that's what that feels like." He muttered unelder his breath, turning off his phone.
A few minutes later, Bruce was in the training room. Dick disappeared only seconds previously, leaving me to explain what we saw.
"Explain now." I sighed.
"Me and the Spider were sparing and I hit him in the chest. When I did, he stumbled back, and curled up, his hand against his chest. Dick yook of Pete's shirt to make sure he wasn't severely hurt, and we saw marks."
I closed my mouth, not knowing how to explain it. Bruce stood, a bit patient. "There was a batarang burnt into his skin, and a jagged line, that looks like it could've been from a batarang. He said he doesn't know how he got them though."
"I don't belive that is true Jason."
"Bruce! We saw the scars and imprints!" I yelled at him, angry and frustrated.
"That still doesn't ecplain gow he got them. Come back to me when your telling the truth."
I tossed my hands up and shoved past him. Mocking him. "Didn't belive me, what the hell ever." I put on my suit and left.
