Chapter 16- Confessions and Netflix
-Taylor's POV-
"Spill," I ordered Lauren. Only twice since I have known her has she ever cried to the point of bloodshot eyes, and both of them were after family members had passed away.
"Tell me or I will call your mum and ask her myself, don't think that I-"
"My mum doesn't know!" Lauren yelled at me, her blue eyes a dark turquoise from the amount of passing tears.
Before I had the chance to ask anything, Lauren picked up her phone and handed it to me. "Read it," She demanded.
I unlocked the screen to meet a page of words. An e-mail.
Lauren Williams,
After your recent appointment two weeks ago, I am writing to inform you that your results testing for pregnancy came through positive. A checkup will be needed withing the next month, considering no health risks are taken before that time. Thank you and congratulations, Dr Kimberly Lawson.
What. The. Fuck.
After I finished reading, I still couldn't bring myself to look anywhere but the fading phone screen. Lauren is pregnant. Woah.
"Well say something," I heard her voice crack, but I could only think of one thing to ask her.
"Who?"
"Who, what?"
"Who's the dad?" The words came out weird on my tongue.
"I- I don't know. I can't actually remember," This time I did look at her, her blotchy eyes filled with shame and defeat. I could only mirror her expression, as much as it killed me, but how could she not have told anyone about this?
"So what do you think you will do about it? We have two and a half months left here," I asked her, already feeling the tears coming because I somehow knew what she was going to say next.
"I'm leaving tomorrow,"
I could only nod in response, the reality of the situation hitting me harder than a ton of bricks. My best friend is pregnant and I don't have the sense of mind to be happy for her. She is now, because of that, leaving Sydney tomorrow, not only leaving me with five members of a boyband that I don't particularly like, but also the daughter of a murderer, and her best friend.
After I wiped the stray tears away, I lifted my head high and exited the bathroom, meeting Niall's worried eyes on the other side.
No way was it my place to tell them about the current situation, so I just sent him my best smile, and walked back to my room without cracking the layer of toughness that I have been building for so long.
Luckily Harry wasn't anywhere to be seen once I entered the bedroom, giving me time to think about everything. Every little fucked up piece of the puzzle which may never ever be completed.
******
It turned out that whilst I was having my thinking time, I had drifted off to sleep, which Harry had woken me up from not so long ago. Lauren had notified everyone about her dismissal, but not giving the exact reason why, she simply used the excuse of having a few medical issues which needed to be seen to back home. At least half true I guess.
And well about only ten minutes ago, the remaining four of us were told that a new member from my school would be joining us here, to simply fill in Loz's place.
Well you can probably guess how ecstatic I am about that information.
But right now though, after all of the drama from today, Harry had agreed to sit down with me and watch a movie. Mean Girls wasn't currently available on Netflix, leaving us no choice but to watch my all time favourite comedy, Grown Ups.
We had managed to end up in the position of me sitting cross legged in between Harry's legs, with my head on his chest and the laptop resting on my lap. Don't ask how, but it was comfortable.
"Hey, considering that it's Lauren's last night, we took the liberty of letting you two choose where we eat today," Harry told me, and I groaned. Literally five minutes of not being reminded of her big leave, and I get reminded again.
"Can I just order pizza? My head is literally on the verge of falling off," I began settling in for my annual hibernation. Stress brings out the lazy in me.
"Any preferred toppings?" Harry asked, making me crack a small grin. Why can't everyone refrain from asking questions like him?
"Would I sound like a pig if I asked for a meat feast with stuffed crust?" My grin increased in size.
"Well I wouldn't call you a pig specifically, because sausage is included in a meat feast, meaning that I would also be calling you a cannibal, which I'm pretty sure you aren't.. so no," Harry replied in a smart ass comment.
"Just get the pizza," I let out a small laugh and resumed to watching the movie.
The pizza, which I ended up sharing with Harry, was undeniably delicious. The Australians obviously have a very good taste in chefs.
"So is it just us having pizza, or have the rest of the group fucked off to some fancy 5 star restaurant?" I said, followed by an unexpected.
"I don't know about 5 star, but yes. Because unlike some, they don't get tired at seven in the evening," Harry began teasing me, and I hit him on the head with a pillow.
"Whatever, and why didn't you go with them? I'm perfectly fine lounging out alone in this hotel room with Netflix and a pizza," I told him. He gave to audible response, except when I turned to face him, his expression showed pure awe. Turning mine to confused.
"What?"
"Nothing, I just think that a week ago you would of said the complete opposite thing," He reasoned, throwing a piece of sausage up in the air and catching it in his mouth.
"Times change and people change," I said, failing to keep a straight face whilst doing so. "No, I guess I'm just a bit run down about the whole Lauren fiasco," I admitted.
"It's only a few medical issues, why get so bummed about it. After all, you get the incredible experience of spending the rest of this time with me and my four best friends," Harry attempted to cheer me up, but the added pressure of not being able to tell anyone that Lauren is fucking pregnant, just completely drains me.
"Yeah, you're right. But for now, I'm completely fine with laying here and watching Netflix," I rested my head on my pillow and pressed play.
UPDATE! YAY! So finally I think I am back on track! :)
There probably won't be an update everyday, but I wanted to post this today because I feel like I owe you for not updating for so long!
The pic on the side is of Taylor finding out about Lauren's pregnancy :/
Love you guys!
