The Past

"Good luck babe!" said Alice
I left my dads car waving bye to him and walked into the dmv I was taking the test to get my learners permit. I can't wait to drive even though that's still a year away I'll be able to drive this year...with my mom or dad in the car of course. Ah the dmv where the people working here don't care and take their sweet ass time and the people trying to get things done have to suffer because of it. Waiting to get my name called to take the test I start texting my girlfriend.
"This is so nerve wracking having to wait just makes you more nervous lol"
Waiting for her to reply, I went through my Instagram scrolling and liking pictures of people who's life is better than mine.
She replied, "I know but you studied really hard and I know you're going to pass. I believe in you! Good luck baby<3"
Just as I got that message they called my name, they took me to an open computer and then I started. 250 questions?! This is going to be hard,"Wish me luck" I prayed.

I got my learners permit! I passed the test with flying colors and they gave me my permit! We are so celebrating tonight with McDonald's and Ben and Jerry ice cream hell yeah! I got into the car where my mom, dad, sister, and girlfriend were they waited in anticipation for me to tell them if I passed or not. I stayed quiet the whole ride home just to throw them off. We got home and my girlfriend rubbed my back sympathetically. I then went into the kitchen where my family was and announced that I got my learners permit. "We knew you could do it! Good job honey we're so proud of you!" mom said.
"Good job champ" said dad
"Good job Lukie" said Sarah
My girlfriend didn't do anything she just kissed me I don't mind best congrats I could've gotten. They said we have to celebrate so we went to McDonald's and got Ben and Jerry's. What can I say? My family knows me.

"Good job man I knew you would get it!" Michael congratulated.
"Oh yeah? What were those bets about then Michael?" Contradicted Alice
"What bets?" I questioned
Nervously Michael answered, "Oh it's noth-"
"Bullshit Michael you asked all our friends and even asked me! I declined of course." Alice claimed
"Did you really Michael?" I again questioned
"Yeah but I'm your best friend so it's okay if I do it" Michael said cheekily
"Oh shut up smart ass" I punched his arm.
The bell rang and we all said our goodbyes and headed to class. Three more periods to go.

The final bell rang and everyone packed up their stuff and left for the day. I waved by to my friends, put my earbuds in and started walking home. A block away from my house I see a couple out in their yard and the man seems to be yelling and the woman. I take out my earbuds and watch them cautiously. The woman looks terrified and the man seems to be terrifying. Getting caught up in the fight the woman looks up the street and then looks at me and starts yelling I look up the street but, its too late.
