When Connie crossed her house's doorstep, she heard the angry crying of little George. She found him at Evelyn's arms drinking milk from a colorful bottle.
"Someone's angry" giggled Connie. She took a seat to the couch next to her aunt.
"Thank goodness you're here." sighed Evelyn trying to calm down George. "He has been like this for half an hour. I was hopping you could handle it." She placed the baby in Connie's hug.
"It's OK Georgie" she charmspoke, trying to make him sleep. The baby's eyelashes seemed to lower and his eyes began to close.
"Sweet dreams" she whispered putting him in the crib.
"Thanks sweetheart" Evelyn gave Connie a hug and kissed her forehead. "So, what brings to to our lands?" she asked heading for the kitchen.
Connie followed her inside. "I was looking for Simon. Godiva said he would be here."
"Oh yeah he is" Evelyn replied with obvious dislike. "He has been playing on this freaking computer for like two hours. Just because he is ill, doesn't mean he can't do anything to help in here. He hasn't even come down for breakfast." She was furious and about to throw a plate of pancakes in the bin, but Connie stopped her with a tap on the shoulder.
"It's alright, I'm gonna eat those." Her stomach was making strange noises all day. "I had no time for a proper breakfast today." She began eating non-stop, enjoying every bite.
"But it's lunchtime!" Evelyn complained looking at the antique clock hanged on the wall.
"I know, but there's something I have to do first. And Simon must be present." She stopped eating and washed the dish in the sink.
"Where are you going anyway!" Evelyn wondered taking the plate from Connie.
"It's OK, I'll do the washing up. You get some rest. We'll be back in half an hour." She grabbed a towel and climbed the stairs to her room. Evelyn had insisted on taking care of Simon so he took his laptop and moved to her room.
Connie entered the room and found her brother in front of his laptop, as Evelyn had foreseen. He was wearing his Scooby-Doo pajamas and his hair was messy, like a little bird's nest. He was wearing his reading glasses he only used when playing video games or watching TV.
"Earth calling Simon" she shouted not able to hold her laugh. Her brother turned his chair to face his sister, not scared at all by this unwanted intrusion.
"You can't scare me, I can sense your presence." He got up and stretched. "What's for breakfast?" he asked.
"It's 14:00, sleepyhead. Evelyn has cooked spaghetti for lunch. She said you were too busy to get down for pancakes."she replied.
"Oh, right! Anyway, why are you here?"
"Well, first of all I live here and, secondly, I was wondering if you'd like to join a myth-contest. Col and Rat are in. We have a meeting point at the refinery." she answered.
"Whatever" he grabbed his jacket from the  bed and put in his trainers. "I'll bring Rex and I'll meet you there."
"You're not thinking of coming wearing pjs, are you?"
"Why not?" He smirked and run past Connie, leaving her astound.
